Yeah I don’t think PW is correct but it is in the article.Who’s PW and is he associated with the Turners?
The more I found out the more question
Didn’t he flee as well? Did he do time for perverting the course of justice? Did they prove he deliberately hit him as opposed to a straight accident? How did he get away with that!He was only ever convicted of perverting the course of justice over the Armstrong killing.

Yes he did flee the country for approximately 13 years I think. Did no jail time for the Armstrong killing. I’m told he backed over him so I doubt it was an accident but nevertheless the man died.Didn’t he flee as well? Did he do time for perverting the course of justice? You’re obviously very familiar with the case and community. Turners obviously into dodgy stuff. Is he involved in any gangs? Is he accepted/ popular within the community?
Where did he go in those 13 years and any missing person cold cases there?Yes he did flee the country for approximately 13 years I think. Did no jail time for the Armstrong killing. I’m told he backed over him so I doubt it was an accident but nevertheless the man died.
Turners and dodgy stuff? Oh yeah!! Most definitely!
Not known to have gang affiliation (maybe the blue type??).
I don’t think he’s the most popular member of his community but held fear over many in his heyday and probably still does now.
USA, no idea on what he did there.Where did he go in those 13 years and any missing person cold cases there?
Actually I think you may be right there.Thought he skipped the country just after Urban was found for 13 years, got escorted back by interpol, tried the same trick after the Bush Road incident but failed. I could be wrong….
The ‘2 bodies over the creek’ that was mentioned in the podcast ……So the 2 bodies over the creek doesn’t necessarily need to be Urban and Heidi. It could be Urban and Milton Channing? Heidi could be anywhere….

Thought 1: Do we know that DT hadn’t been at home at all during the 3 years on the run?Thought 1: Tamihere was on the run for over 3 years in the Coromandel. He stole the tourists car, headed to Auckland and was spotted and arrested for jumping bail on his previous charges.
This was before he was ever a suspect in the Heidi case, which took a while to realise they were missing and track the car to Tamihere. When police knew he was a suspect he was already in custody.
So what’s the chances that the one time he decides to leave the Coromandel and get caught, is the time he stole a random murdered peoples car and their being no link?
Isn’t it more logical a significant event happened resulting in him changing the way he had lived for the past 3 years? Eg involvement in the murder?
Thought 2: Wishart’s book identified a Huia Foley who was violent, in the area and allegedly admitted to the crimes twice. Im not familiar with this suspect. Does anyone have more info? Would he have had any involvement with the Turners or Tamihere? Is there more evidence in Wisharts book than the confession?
I agree, John must have found that very difficult. He knew David in a way no one else did. Curious how David 'Bear Grills'd' his way around the Coromandel, I wonder how much time John spent in that area growing up, I haven't heard him talk about it, only his Avondale upbringingI have been watching a lot of lawyers on YouTube the last few years. A lot will livestream cases or follow various cases. One of them was the Murdaugh murders which has a NetFlix series going over the case. A lot of the lawyers didn't watch the series as they wanted the evidence to speak for itself. A common theme around the case was the judge letting the prosecution phrase questions or get the case moving in a direction where it was assumed he was guilty and he had to prove his innocence instead of the presumed innocent and needing to prove guilt.
It was reported here but just the news that he was guilty. Watching parts of it I can see where the lawyers were coming from.
How many cases do we have where that has been the case.
A difficult position to be in having a family member accused of something like this. They are entitled to a fair trial so like everyone else you can find out the truth. Then it would be a case of dealing with the fallout.
yes, especially if you have watched Doubt, all the witness accounts of the missing Ketch sailing elsewhere what on earth??The similarity in that case was they knew they had a violent sex offender on their hands, who don't exist in great numbers, and guess who was at the place that night?
They could not,and did not bring that evidence to the jury, and as for the panted hair, there was other supporting evidence of his guilt.
