Thanks brother, just to make clear, she is no more expensive than Jenny Craig, although the first meeting wasn't cheap....but that goes/went for Jenny Craig too.Keep up the good work Bruce
Sounds like your dietician is an effective help!
Age is the issue. When young the premiums are a drop in the bucket. The trouble with just putting your own money aside for health issues is discipline and the competition for other spending roads.
We pay $a 247 a fortnight as a couple. To a not for profit health insurer
That’s for extras and hospital but in Aus you still end up with awful gap fees for operations.
There is multiplicity of health insurers in Aus so there is some competition.
Nz - not so much competition in this area?

Hospital much of everything but bear in mind the Aus gap feesthat sounds like a pretty good deal, can i ask what this covers??
I'm paying ~$120 a month for my wife, whose family on both sides have a history of cancer so the $120 covers any and all forms of cancer.. but nothing else... using ami
The part about the athletes isn't too bad. As there is more to performance than weight. You need some weight to handle the knocks or lose during the season. Later in the article, it gets a bit worrying as it starts to sound like some of the fat acceptance propaganda we get occasionally here. I get looking at more items than just weight but in general, weight is a big indicator.I found this interesting.....
Don’t cheer the scale: doctors and dieticians untangling body size from health
Healthcare professionals, from advanced sports dieticians to general practitioners, are increasingly trading a focus on weight for other, more robust health measureswww.theguardian.com
I think more people are realising just how complex the relationship between diet/weight/exercise/stress/genetics etc is
BMI is a nonsense as is calories in v calories burned
Good work. I wouldn't worry about the 500 grams you mentioned the other week the main thing is over a longer period you are tracking the way you want to. In your case down.Good evening ladies and jellybeans..
I made my second visit to the dietician this week. Three weeks after my first.
I have lost 3 kilograms in that time. It was all fat.

They know because they have a fancy machine that differentiates between fat and muscle.
So it didn't affect my heart, like the last diet did.
The cost of the dietitian is working out to be very reasonable compared with the now defunct Jenny Craig.
The Jenny Craig food saved weight but was very expensive. The stuff I get now is just standard from PakNSave.
Now the bread thing. I was was always reading the sugar content, she said no, just read the calories per 100gm.
It turns out Vogels has HALF the calories of a similar slice of Cape Seed loaf!!! So I truly was eating a mince and cheese pie worth of calories because I had changed from Vogels.
So I asked how come the sugar content was the same. She said it wasn't the sugar content, it was the type of flour. So there you go.
Just gotta say, the Cape Seed loaf was bloody delicious, not as nice as a dram of the Macallan though.
I haven't touched any fruit, and she said I won't be. I asked about vitamin C and fibre. She said all the salads I am eating have more than enough.
Of course not, but you need protein as well. If you want keep eating because you are hungry binge on vegetables. You can't go wrong with eating vegetables.
She was talking to me, as a prediabetic. I think you will find most advice for diabetics is to be cautious with fruit.I just don't get the whole demonising fruit thing.
if you don’t eat healthy you miss out on vitamins and minerals and can struggle to put of weight because while your eating quantity of junk food, your not actually eating quality and nourishing your body. When we were younger I was a fitness fanatic, yet if I had anything like sugar in a coffee my weight would spike, even then.
In comparison he had an active life, but exercise was a no no, like why bother. Yet he is still the same lean bastard he always was, the prick!!!
My wife is a ball of energyif you don’t eat healthy you miss out on vitamins and minerals and can struggle to put of weight because while your eating quantity of junk food, your not actually eating quality and nourishing your body.
So you can be skinny but not healthy. And that flows into low energy, so less exercise, etc.
I find Bakers Delight tries hard but it aint the best by a long shot.
I reckon that thinly cut Vogels is just great for taste ingredient and calories.
Where does she get the sourdough from.... Foodstuffs/Countdown or an independent.
It is called like being married to your sisterAFAIK women retire from bedroom activity at approx 55 - 60 - shop is closed
Lots of non nos in there for meBakers delight, McDonalds, and Arnotts got their flour from the Auckland flour mills in Otahuhu. The flour mill is owned by Australians, and the wheat comes from Australia.
My father in law used to run the plant. We would get free Bakers delight and Arnotts biscuits.
McDonalds flour gets sugar added to make those slightly sweet buns they make their burgers with.
I used to add the secret ingredients from the mill to make homemade experimental dough mixtures, in search of the perfect hot fluffy bread, sour dough, heavy bread, baps, you name it.
Now days I am on a keto slash low carb diet, been at it all of seven days. Going ok, I am trying to learn what fast food you can get away with that can be delivered cooked for convenience.
Tonight I tried Nandos for the first time, a wrap, after reading in here that it is not too bad.
Otherwise I tried the wheat bread Subway.
And Sushi is the other thing I have had delivered for a lower calorie takeaway.
I wish I knew more food delivery options that are actually low carb to try.
Oh and I forgot Chop Suey from the Chinese takeaway, no noodles.
It is called like being married to your sister
With some races the term is used "like being married to your sister", as in you have deep love for each other but sex doesn't come into it.Please elaborate
