Was it him that did charge down to give the Storm another set?

Just asking like…

I like Caps. Not sure he’ll last the season though. Him and Tohu look like they’re on their last wheels

Barney, jumped up facing his own goal line

1) Would CNK have been there at the final play? Looking at the pics Berry was definitely beaten due to the overlap and DWZ couldn’t just rush to Coates, Berry got there but we can’t expect DWZ to predict the future in 0.1 second. If he went high and Coates didn’t jump it’d be a penalty try by the bunker. That’s why I’m wondering would CNK or RTS back in the day be in the corner working miracles?

2) Coaches could probably use water boy to tell them how to defend those slick plays, after it’s been done once already

3) Should have that Coates try photo put on the tunnel before they walk out, motivate the heck out of the team

Just saying these because yes if we played like that for 2 halves we win comfortably, but there will be games where you play well but still need to lock up games in the last 5 minutes with 12 point leads or less

Roger might have been there to hit Coates, who knows. I thought they slid well enough and had them covered, if Dallin gets him in the upper body he'd be out but I don't know if anyone could have stopped that freakish acrobat.
Coates said he wasn't even sure how he did it, pretty sure some kind of voodoo was occurring, what can you do if they suddenly gain the power of fight and jump over your head. Dallin got out-Dallined, bring on the revenge match at home.

What did everyone make of Capehah?
Missed the initial tackle on Hughes for the storms second try and papi for their third.
Didn’t offer much in attack either.
Just looks half a step off the pace.
Yeah i think for someone regarded more a workmanlike player some of those missed tackles he can come up with are surprising.

Tbh if Niukore is now earmarked as a middle then we do lack some strike on the edges (even with Fords improved performance). Niukore and Curran running off SJ was another point of attack for us last year. Im not sure either Capewell or Ford are natural line runners but as another poster said, maybe some more time in our systems?

Later down the track i could see room for maybe a Laban on the bench to spell one of them and to hit some holes out wide. Cant question their engines tho.

Was quiet yesterday but my gut feel is he likely needled up and played through in a fair bit of pain
I think his leadership and poise are important. I saw how AFB was talking to him in the sheds - showed that he is an important cog for the boys to know they have another calm head that has been there before - it their corner. It helps with belief with in the team. I agree with the other post - he was probably highly needled.

Webby wants 80 minute edge forwards to allow us more flexibility and changes in the middle. Apart from Niukores size = that is also a big reason he has been moved to the middle and part time edge if needed in a game.

On that point, what is doing with Webby’s rotation of bench?

Those forced HIAs of Tohu and GOAT don’t count against the 8 subs, and we have 80 minute backrowers for flexibility as you mention.. yet we have Freddy playing monster minutes only to not finish the game so Chanel can get 8 in, Ale only came in after Tohu was forced off, AFB didn’t the finish the game (was there an injury I’ve missed?) and Barnett came off the field with AFB for the second week running

Does anyone have the Footy IQ to dive in and explain the method to Webbys madness?

I joked earlier today that I came back in the house to see my kids watching game and it was on the replays of the last try. Turned the PS5 off this afternoon and to watch the games and it was being played again. That one was more my fault should have changed the channel before putting on the PS5 so I could avoid it.

Likely going to get comments on it as soon as I walk in the office tomorrow as well.

On Capewell. The commentators have been pumping up his replacement at the Broncos. Basically they needed to get rid of the old work horse and put him out to pasture for the new superstar.

Each club has different needs. The Broncos ditched a lot of experience years ago and got them in a pretty bad hole. To the point they picked up the spoon.

One of our strengths last year was our experience. Losing 2 second rowers last year meant we needed another one. The two that moved on weren't regular starters last year. Capewell will be.

Like Webster said he will help our younger guys with how to train and prepare etc. The key thing is we have heard that in the past. The key thing is getting in it embedded in the club with everyone coming through.

Thank you for posting that. Didn't addin have a 3rd stint? Was weird seeing him go back on bench after 10 odd mins for his second stint. I'm perplexed by it all too. It seems as if we want to play with a 3 man bench and the 4th player is only there for injuries.

Even when we were struggling in the first half it was encouraging that we were asking questions of the Storm defensively whenever we were in the 20.

We got our ball movement going similar to last year. It was pretty impressive how they can get a play going with Johnson digging in to the line, decoy runners and create an overlap. A few times last year it looked like they set it up pretty quickly. Typically it would take a few set up plays.

It wouldn't look so pretty if it was any of our other half options in stead of Johnson.

1. Lucky it’s an internet forum. Talk of me not paying a bet is known health hazard. Hard to confirm when I get censored 👀 . Send details

2. Pretty sure Lussick still sucks and CHT immediately improved the middle on both d and attack.
IMHO Lussick had one of his best games ... yes no Egan ...but a tough nut that wasn't scared to front up and get back up to do a ton of work 30 tackles....
I can see where DWZ hand can be confused by Oats.

Serious question- does DWZ ever catch a guy on his outside ???
nope gets bitched one on one more times than not .. missed 4 tackles in the match ..made 6 mostly after SJ kick to the corner ... he is by far our weakest D link in the team(Metcalf second) ..and was last season as well ...but as he scores great tries with that flying mullet won't be getting replaced unless injured ...

I hate the idea of a 3 man bench. Get a 4th active sub and make the 17 have enough who CAN cover injuries. Sheesh please don't be doing 3 bloke bench Webby.
