General YOUR Team for 2026

It's the off-season so it's fun to dream, but I hope those of ya that are naming 4-6 rookies or positional changes aren't really expecting that come Rd 1 nek year.

Players like Ford, Niukore, CHT, Capewell, CNK and Dal will be there or there abouts imo.

We might get one young buck who trains the house down and gets a bench spot, or potentially one surprising positional shift like Leka to center, or an injury that keeps someone like Dal or CNK out but at least for the first half of the year until Barney and Metcalf is back, I think we'll all be a little underwhelmed at how similar the team will look to the end of this year.

I continue to have a sneaky suspicion that Leka might train as a center in the off season, which count open the door up for Fatialofa. I also think Dal or CNK will be injured to start the year and that will give AKP the chance to start the year.

My guess is:
CNK
AKP
Leka
Rocco
RTS
CHT
Boyd
JFH
Egan
Ford
Laban
Capewah
Clark

Healey
Niukore (middle)
Demi
EIT/Gannon/Fatialofa
6 rookies being named round 1 is more likely than Leka to center

NZWarriors.com

Neither are happening is my point.

You can't tell people to be realistic and then throw out Leka to center in the same paragraph :ROFLMAO:

Like where he started the last game?

Like how he was switched there a few times this year?

Do you know what realistic means haha.

What a dumb, dumb way to disagree with a post lol.
'I disagree with your post so I'm going to say an even stupider suggestion'.

Good luck with your future endeavors

Yeah i think you're struggling to grasp the concept of realistic by the sounds of it

Hey, lets take our blue chip prospect who's on track to be our most important player within 2 years and move him to a position that; a) he's less comfortable in, and b) is a less important position overall where he will receive less touches and involvement

He played there last game because we had no one else 😂

They went for something different to the usual Capewell makeshift play for whatever reason. But yeah by all means, let's go with your suggestion and ruin his development.

I don't mind people throwing outside the box ideas around, but to suggest that other people are being unrealistic in the same post is a bit whack

You're cooked mate.

I said that as it's the off season, it's fun to dream.

I then said I have a sneaky suspicion that Leka could be moved. Hardly doubling down and saying it's a guarantee. I also didn't refer to any poster in specific, and then your response to me is to then make an even stupider point than what I said lol.

Outside of the rookie chat your posts are pretty bleh, stick to what you know.

Although suggesting that 6 rookies are more likely to debut Rd 1 is pretty ridiculous so it seems you're losing your grasp there too.

I hope you're more fun in real life than you are on this forum, you seem like you have this need to be right all the time, it's why I usually don't respond to any of your shit posts

You're so offended 😂

You understand the sentiment of what I'm saying but choosing to take the reply in its literal sense.

This is an offseason thread for people to chuck random shit out there, who cares if people want to name 6 rookies and 6 positional changes.

Let's just leave this here because its escalated with some unnecessary jabs from both sides.

Youre right, I am offended. Because you're being an arsehole for no need.

Yeah you're right, the off season is for everyone to chuck random shit out....like I did. And then you took the piss out of me....and now you're saying thats what it's for...your arguments imploding

You've got an attitude mate, maybe treat people with respect and not act like like your opinion is more important than everyone elses

Even now, laughing because you've made me feel shit... Ka pai bro!

Politely, eat a bag of dicks

If he could pass I’d like him at centre, just because of the space he’ll get, he’d be up there with the hardest player to handle in the comp. He already is but at centre would make it twice as hard.

We do need a strike centre tho that can just straight up beat a man with pace and footwork.

Shiiiiit if Mr Vegas himself is agreeing with me then you know it's an out of the box suggestion 😜

Haha nah, that's deffo my thinking - strengthen a weak area for us while also opening up another spot for a Gannon/Fatialofa on the bench. It really depends on how Rocco and Ali are going early nek year - those boys are due a solid year in first grade after the last few.

But it certainly is an outside the box suggestion and in all honestly, it's very unlikely to happen, or even be a long term thing but look at how good Talakai went for that one year or so, dude was absolutely destroying people left right and center.

Historically I think we've shown that we're never going to be a consistent Melbourne type team who makes the top 4 year in, year out so I think you need to take a risk or two to over the 27 rounds to make inroads.
