So are you saying he’s committed to r360 and he’s after something for a season until it commences?

For me, if that was the plan for big NAS why would he forego one more season with the Storm on 850k, and have an opportunity to redeem himself (if that was one of the big things for him, letting his team mates down in 2x GFs) if it was a foregone conclusion he's gone at the end of next year for 360?

Seems very round about to be granted a release where he (allegedly) looses the whole $850k and then sign with someone for next year, likely in a worse position than Melbourne, on less money than what he was on with the Storm, before going to 360.

I'm sure the whole Melbourne release thing is bullshit too, but it sounds like thats largely what's been accepted by the media as there's been heaps of stories written about this massive war chest Storm have now that they've got rid of NAS, Pap and Pezets contacts

My guess: Storm paid him out about half of his contract (800k), hes going to try and get 500-600k per year for 2 years with someone which means he's better off over those last two years than he was at the Storm (800k pay out and $1mill from next team), if he shits the bed in the first year of his contract, he's got 360 or boxing to fall back on which is a bit of a risk, but he'll make $1 mill plus doing that

I do want to know why the Storm are dumping him (We will maybe never know the full extent).

As fort he game passing him by, maybe - I don't think so.

Financial output vs game input. His contract doesn't make sense for the Storm. I doubt it is anything more than that.

The game probably hasn't passed him by, but he certainly doesn't warrant an elite contract in the modern game.

NAS will be aware his halcyon days are predominantly over and will be looking for the next career step that fits best out of a range of options. One of those will be the opportunities for more success at the NRL level for less favourable contract terms.

Just my opinion but his halcyon days didn't last very long.

He'll probably retire from NRL coaching at the end of 2027, so all 3 Clearys are off contract, he'll probably graduate to rep level and NRL consultation, Jett SHOULD be returning to Penrith BUT dad's probably not there anymore, maybe if he's a consultant, otherwise it's actually 50/50 if he stays with us?

Weirdly enough...are the daughters still living with Ivan? If not I don't see why we can't make a play for him to come as a hands on general manager/consultant to help Jett, and looking at getting Nathan over as a combo, there's clearly a connection, and he's won 4 there, his kids were born here and it's another OE for the couple, or shall I say family? He's been planting his people here, his assistant coach, his alpha prop, his son.... 🤣

Offer the girls top jobs at the Wahs club or something lol, Cam George get onto it!

Honest question, would you dump webby for him if he wanted to come back?

This is for all to answer, I would be interested to know your answers.

And lets say Nathan goes to england or R360 and Ivan says he wants to coach Jett, Jett could go to penrith or Ivan comes here at the cost of webby.

If we get 2 wooden spoons in '26 and '27 then yes

Most likely if he wants to return I would have him as our Gus with Webby as the head coach with 5 years of FG experience, I doubt he's aiming for another head coach role or upending Webby's solid career here

Nathan will be 30 at the end of the 2027 season, and with Ivan talking about not wanting to coach against Jett, AND is interested in coaching a rep team, it certainly sounds like there could be an easy transition where Nathan leaves to go to super League and start a family with his Mrs (I've heard him talk about wanting to be a father etc), with Ivan becoming coach of an international team or Origin, while coming over here in some sort of coaching/mentoring capacity and supporting Webby and Jett.
Ivan and Webby seem to have a solid respect for each other, maybe it's naive of me but I can't see him snaking Webby for the head coaching role here. I'd be pretty gutted if that was to happen.

That's probably best case scenario unless we can break Nathan and his Mrs up, so he can come over with Dad and him and Jett lead us to our maiden premiership at the club. Man that's some fairy tail shit right there.
