We lost SJ/Tohu/Walker/Monty/AFB and gained Fish/Clarke and what? AFB was our highest paid player, Tohu probably right up there, SJ/Walker both top 10 and Monty lower end but not nsw cup money. You could say Fish/Clarke cancel out Tohu/SJ, which would leave the combined salary of Walker/Monty/AFB which would be close to $2m py right?

My understanding was Tohu signed a one year deal for 2025 that was about 4-500k and was on our books up to March or so, so we probably only gained a few hundred k from him retiring. SJ was about 600k and we signed Tannah on a few hundy, so likely only about 3-400k net profit from that, and then Walker was here til about March too, so we probably had about 500k from his contract after he left. So maybe not as much as you're suggesting? But id still guess about a milli from that lot (including Monty).

But hey, anybody's guess really. I usually guestimate and then subtract from there, but who knows

The whole thing seems incredibly obscure. It just doesn't seem realistic that the Bronocs would be in a position to sign literally anyone coming into this year, then they bring in Hunt? They should be shedding half their team over the next two years, but are able to sign the hottest half prospect on the market? Storm can just have an aussie rep spine for years and years no worries?

CG got asked about Nelson on the radio.
"We're always looking for people who can add value. But at this stage, no, its not even across our desk"
Warriors have made a formal offer to big Nelson for next season. 2 year deal is what’s been mentioned

Was on the sharks forum this afternoon. Perhaps a guess on the two years? Can recall in the past though CG saying there was no communication with one player and next thing they were signed, can’t recall who it was?

Who is this poster and the Courier Mail report of making an offer is pretty specific, it’s not reported as we’re approaching him or dragons are interested in Luke before, it’s an offer…

Also remember we rejected him because of the price, now he’s got his cash payout from the storm…

According to Google AI we signed Papalii 10 months ago 😂😂 Ivan what a pack of frauds I am taking them to court!

Poster is usually pretty handy. Think it was the poster who said earlier in the year that we were interested? Then it came out later that NAS had been offered to Warriors

I think the last few seasons at the Knights and KP mirror those years at The Warriors for SJ - hes expected to win the game single handedly and carry the team on his shoulders.
This has been compounded by the value of his contract The scrutiny and burden will at some point must weigh on him negatively.
It’s whether he’s prepared to take a smaller contract- however if he was to leave in his current T contract T cycle a new team has to pay the current contract value.
I think there's no chance Ponga os going anyway. With Brown joining, the club will absolutely want ROI on Ponga. You wouldn't pay someone that much for years for very little return. Then let him go once you've finally found him a partner in crime. I can't even imagine how good Ponga/Brown will be. Neither can the Knights. That's why they're thinking GF over next 2 years.

Young, Best, Gagai, Shiller, I'd imagine them lighting up with those Brongia leading the way. Maybe they'll get the best out of Saifiti too. Frizell will lift. I'm quite excited to see how they go.

He's going to be a gun player. I've got big raps on him. Not sure why so many posters don't think he won't be ready for another 2 or 3 years.
He is not there yet but progressing quickly and his upside compared to Boyd is massive.

In one of our pre-season trials, I am sure he will get the 7 jumper to see how he goes. Boyd obviously has the inside running for the 7 jumper for round 1 due to experience but if Cleary out-performs him in the trials, it will be interesting to see what happens.

I would doubt that Boyd and CHT will be paired together so it has to be a CHT/Cleary combo or one of the young halves (Linnane/Cleary/Hanson)/Boyd combo.
Unless they see TMM as an option which seems doubtful.
