Always patchy at this point of the cycle, some industries with a bit of growth, others still flat lining. Fletcher Building as an example are still really struggling. But undeniable that we are through the worst of it. Rates will be rising again this time next year.

@John Nick more chat re Iwi chasing ~$100m from Port of Tauranga to ‘allay their concerns’ re the container wharf extension. Makes you wonder about the approval issues a couple months back aye. Thoughts?
Well obviously the consent process has been a complete cluster. Part of it is Iwi but the process application appears to be another cluster. This surely lands with the Minister of Infrastructure Bishop.
As I understand the application is still pending by the courts because the Mount Maunganui side of the extension was completely missing from the final consent procedure.
I find this is outrageous enough for someone to be sacked.
I haven't heard anything else in the past few weeks though. Busy with Xmas deadlines.
