Social Wrighty's Player Agent Game Rules posted

Hi
After thinking about it I don’t want Langer etc to be included so the wild card will be as follows

Debuted between 1998 and 2018 and did not play nrl in the 2025 season
How does the Wild Card work? Skimming over the rules I didn't see it mentioned. Just 11 players, 11 rounds

NZWarriors.com

Damn didn't notice this was running. Enjoyed it back in the day. Lock me in for next years one.

Enjoy everyone.
Hi warriors55

I can squeeze one more in but you will have to be our last
Please reply and let me know if you are keen and I will update the opening post and the rules
I remember you from past years and you would have a chance at this having played before
Let me know asap though if you can

Hi Cces

Hopefully you will remember from last year when you played that we spend about three to four weeks discussing and improving the rules as a group

Every three or four days I will take the discussion of rule changes from the thread and update the opening post
Rest assured that all the rules will be mostly settled well before the game starts

There is a discussion on the previous page which goes back and forth between me and mr brownstone on the fact people like Shaun Johnstone and other good players from the era of the top 50 list I posted are missing
So to address this we are going to let the round master who controls each of the 11 rounds, which will now be 12 rounds given warriors 55 is playing, nominate if they wish to suggest a wild card player be included for everyone to also bid on who was missed from the daily telegraph list
That way we get a few more guns in the game
Each round has a different round master and everyone gets a turn at round
Master and therefore a chance at naming one wild card player during the game if that makes sense
The finer details are that the wild card player can start with any letter despite the fact all the other players in the round up for bidding must start with the two letters the round master selects and the other detail is that unlike the daily telegraph list which had players who had just played in that time range the wild card eligibility will be a bit stricter and be debuted in the time range which is 1998 to 2018 and did not play nrl in 2025

All of this detail was split across several posts on the previous page

For all these rule change proposals any one can weigh in and agree or disagree or ask clarification questions
So be sure to let me know if you have any questions or concerns

Oh so it’s had to have debuted since 1998 for wild card, that rules out Clyde!!!

Hello teams, if you need a player not listed, i can help facilitate it.

Might come at a cost but i can certainly make it a po$$ibility.

Making dreams become cove-ted reality since 2012 - Hodges and Co
I think this role could see you put in a legendary performance reprising Chris Hodges
Can’t wait to see you in action haha

  • If you take a Hodges Agency player then you may or not hear instructions from Chris Hodges during the game. You must act on these instructions as a rule of the game. Do not be flustered if some people get lucky and you don’t. Randomness is part of the game.
  • The game will be a series of open auctions. One auction per round.
  • There will be 11 players in the game (plus Chris Hodges) and 11 rounds – each round someone will be round master. The Round master gets an extra $500,000 to spend in that round. The round master will choose two letters of the alphabet nor previously chosen. Roundmasters 9 and 10 will be given $750 000 for having to wait that long and Roundmaster 11 will be given $1,000,000K for having to wait that long. The order will be randomised and published in advance of the contest. Contestants must attempt to acquire players whose last names begin with one of those two letters for the round. Note names like Harris-Tavita start with an H.
  • When roundmasters pick letters they must pick one letter from Pool A and One Letter from Pool B
  • Pool A Letters: B C S T P G J L W M R
  • Pool B Letters: A D E H K N O V Y I F
  • You will be given a War chest of $15Million to start with. When you have less than the minimum bid you may bid no more. You may not bid more than you have in your war chest.
  • You must make one bid each round at least.
  • Auctions will start in the morning as soon as the round master gets up and close at 6pm sharp. Last minute bidding is allowed.
  • You are only allowed two bids on each individual player. This is a twist from past years and the winner of the game will the person who adapts to this the best,
  • The goal is to acquire the best team of 17 you can – you can have as many in your squad as you like. Feel free to develop your own strategy here.
  • The minimum bid on a player is $200,000. There is no black sheep rule. Bids must go up in increments of $10K
  • Possible penalties Chris Hodges may impose
    a) One of your hodges players has had a stoush with the owner or coach, insert random reason for trouble at the mill, unless you play a fine of $X you will forfeit the player as he wants to walk out on you.
    b) One of your hodges players has been spreading rumours to other teams saying your team is stink to play for – in the next bidding round you may only bid once per player instead of twice.
    c) Chris Hodges has messaged you to say that all your Hodges players will walk out on you unless in the next bidding round you make a bid on player x (from the 2025 pool of players)
    d) Chris Hodges says that all your Hodges players will walk out unless player X (a player somewhere low on your depth chart) is elevated to your top 17 and you have to then name them in your top 17.
    e) Anything Tajhay comes up with that is not too unreasonable.
  • There will be voting at the end of the game to determine who has the best team. There will need to be a separate thread where each team manager keeps their team list and war chest up to date.
  • Chris Hodges will give his input at the end of each round and must be acted on by the close of bidding the next day.
  • Please keep your composure during the game even if you get a rough piece of luck or decision.
  • Breaking the rules equals an infraction. Three infractions equals disqualification. There is a green card that negates one infraction handed out for exemplary sportspersonship.
  • Some final advice on strategy. Those who have played these games before will be at an advantage. Try to use lessons learned from the past. This will be a game based on skill. Try to study the rules in advance of the game and come up with your own unique game plan as there are many legitimate paths to victory.
  • Wrighty is the moderator and Admin and a player. I will be on my honour code not to favour myself. I have played and moderated before and it was fine. My decisions are final and I can make new rules during the game and change the rules.
  • No PMs to anyone including me or Tajhay or other competitors. All communications including protests to stay in the thread.
  • No Colluding with other players.
  • No Trading Players

Update at Sept 15th – these rules are subject to the feedback of the contestants so let me know if you have suggestions or clarification questions.

Two questions here Wrighty (and sorry if someone has already mentioned these).

1. For your point above
  • One of your hodges players has had a stoush with the owner or coach, insert random reason for trouble at the mill, unless you play a fine of $X you will forfeit the player as he wants to walk out on you
In that case if the player walks out on he is presumably breaking his contract. Does the amount you bid on him go back to your war chest? I imagine it would.

2. For your point above
  • Breaking the rules equals an infraction. Three infractions equals disqualification. There is a green card that negates one infraction handed out for exemplary sportspersonship
Would ignoring a directive from Chris Hodges count as breaking a rule or is this set in stone that if we don't do what he asks what he said will happen will happen?

For example, if a Hodges player was to walk out if we don't select X player in the 17 and we don't want to give in to that player power, could the Hodges player break their contract and walk out or could we force them to stay? (most people would not want that player in their squad if they don't want to be there, but just curious how that would play out).

I would like a portion of that should be not be refundable. Hell i dont work for free.

Bad things.

Haha fair enough! Can't argue with that.

Definitely agree a portion should be non-refundable. Will leave that up to you and Wrighty to advise what % that would be.

Hi Because there are 12 players I have promoted letter H to Pool A and added Q and U to Pool B. Opening Post updated.

  • Pool A Letters: B C S T P G J L W M R H
  • Pool B Letters: A D E K N O V Y I F Q U

1) If your player walks out my intention was that you wouldn't get any refund. So if you spent $1M on Cameron Smith and Chris Hodges says pay a fine of $X - if you decide to just give up on Cameron Smith and not pay the $X then you lose cameron smith and you don't get any refund for your $1M.

Now we are just testing the rules so if you think that is really unfair let's discuss it and I could be persuaded to let you have $500K back or 50% back. But my initial instinct is that you get $0 back.

2) For example, if a Hodges player was to walk out if we don't select X player in the 17 and we don't want to give in to that player power, could the Hodges player break their contract and walk out or could we force them to stay?

If you disobey Chris Hodges ultimatums I will mod kill you immediately with no warnings or second chances. You must choose one of the two options he presents to you. Failure to cooperate and modify your team list accordingly will result in swift action from me the admin. No infractions. No three infractions and you are out. Just automatic Mod Kill.

I reckon keep it simple - don’t pay then you lose the lot, no refunds

Thanks for the clarification. I thought that would be the case for number 2 but was curious if someone tried it what would happen.

Will be interested what others think about the first one. Either is fine but would be good to have it finalized before the start.

Mr Brownstone has weighed in. Let's wait and see if any other comments on the first one. Otherwise I will make a call later this week.
