I think we could rest at least a couple of players and ask a few others if they would benefit from a week off.
With the NSW Cup team having a bye it's perfect timing to give some of the players exiting one last crack.

• Rest CNK, replace with Taine
• Rest Egan, replace with Healey
• Rest/Ask CHT, replace with TMM
• Keep: DWZ, Berry, Boyd, TSS, TMM, EIT, Demi, and Leka
• Ask: Pompey, RTS, JFH, Capewell, Niukore, and Clark if they could do with a week off
• Replacements: MGT, Kosi, Afoa, Ale, Going, Lussick (but I think he's injured)
• Possibly give one player a debut or 18th man: Fatialofa
  No to any other names thrown around as debutants, Kali, Harper, etc.

Ideally get through the game with no injuries to our top squad members for finals.

Edit: I don't think Webster will rest anyone though, he's not one to fiddle with the line up and he doesn't even rest players during the game half the time.

Melb and Dogs favourites to win this weekend and we need them to, as well as take care of Manly Friday which will be tough enough for us in its own right.

Top four gives us a free hit at the Canberra which I wouldn’t rule out just quietly.

We have to be gunning for that. In the unlikely event we win it everyone can rest before we play the GF qualifier.

Lose it and we have a game at home a week later anyway.

Clear we have to be all in Friday night and Lady Luck does the rest.

Really disappointed with how Marata has been playing these last few months since Barney has gone down. Couple real bad D errors on Friday led to Eels 1st couple tries. He let Fox thru his grasp in goal to then see him run 100m to dot down. And either the 2nd or 3rd try under our posts and he was caught flat footed and pretty much waved the player thru by going high and grabbing at a shoulder. And he can’t bust a tackle either. Runs hard but has no punch. And we have to watch him play on the edge 55+ mins straight each week of this crap. Would rather Leka gets 55mins and Marata plays 30mins at prop or just not in the 17.

Said it at the start of the season for the 800k or whatever he's on he seems far too content cruising by with 6 out of 10 performances every week when he should be hitting 8s consistently. Had the oppertunity to really stand up as a leader once Barney went down but seems far too comfortable just being a foot soldier for my liking.

He has his moments but their few and far between. Dont know if Webby's doing him any favours persisting with him on an edge, the middle third is probably where we'll get our value for money out of him....as it stands a 19 year old on probably the third of his salary is having the type of impact on games we would have hoped or expected to see from him.

And for everything Capewell brings us in leadership and defensive structure, he brings us not much on attack. And he tries way to hard to get that miracle offload away. Our 2 edges must be combined the worst in the comp for the coin they’re on. And probably the oldest. And slowest. And they’ve held their positions all season. Other edges provide that attacking option thru line breaks and offloads. But ours……nada

There is no way this team that webby has been picking is doing anything from here on out. They’ve simply reached their ceiling and are battered and bruised a lot of them ( the backs) from old age. No one can throw a cut out pass, none of our backs besides Roger can break the line, but even he’s slow. No one backs up for off loads, we can have all the possession we want, but at the end of the day points on the board is what wins you games. all these little simple things we don’t have atm.
If we’re gonna go out let’s go out with a bang. 4 changes I want to see that’s it

The fact that after 24 games we look clunky as hell for a long majority of matches, we need to keep the team together and build some cohesion. The only way we are winning any finals games will be by building combos.

I don't know what was up with Egan last week, his service was very poor, there were a number of terrible passes on the last which screws an entire set. I hope his body is holding together. I don't think TMM coming and playing a hybrid sort of role 60 minutes in is what we need, it feels over complicating things when we just need to keep it simple. Healy to me gives us a running game which we really lack, bringing him in with 25 minutes to go makes sense to me.

It's great having Berry back, our edges look a lot more settled. But the second row is now looking slow, which they are. They also don't offer enough on attack to give our halves or backs some space by attracting defenders.. Zero second phase or ball skill from either. Besides from Marata's hard inside line 3 times a game, there isn't much for defences to worry about. Leka needs to get 50 minutes at least on the edge. Move Marata into the middle for 15 minutes once JFH comes off, then bench him.

Honestly, that's about all I would look at changing at this stage.

Can see both sides, we aren't getting 4th, even if the storm beat the broncos, all that does is open the door for the sharks to take 4th, the dogs have nothing to play for in that game.

Split the difference with a bit of rotation, but not a full-blown tank (we don't have any star players left to rest anyway ) Give Bunty a farewell trot.

6th is a good outcome, but trying to spoil Cherry-Evans party is worth a crack as well.
