My reasoning would be, keeping in mind the Cup team is primarily a development one, the result this week isn't of high importance in their season, due to Fatialofa's consistency no one else has really played in that spot so giving someone else minutes there is a bit of future proofing for if he is unavailable for any playoff games, and primarily because (based on other people's opinions who I respect) he's more of a NRL Centre prospect based on his size and the log jam of other Second Rowers in the system
glad I asked why - like your thinking lol.

Ok so I didn’t want to comment about Harper because people on here thing I’m either his mum or wife (I am neither). I am originally from his hometown tho so I do pay more attention. After saying he did FA I watched the game again and also looked at his stats (over his last few games). His workload is quite high actually. He did 15 tackles yesterday (missed 2) , didnt run for many metres but was more than other side and the ball went other side more. No errors but gave away 1 penalty. Not bad in those conditions. He does a lot of tackles most weeks and efficiency is high (other than one week where he had a shocker). So as much as I may stick up for him - some of the guys on here bag him without actually him deserving it. Up the Wahs - Minor Premiers - boom
Fair call mate
Acknowledge that
I was guilty of just watching attack yesterday!

Worth a crack, with minor prem locked up, give him a go and see how it plays out.

Could be interesting as I think Berry and Ali both may be close, so maybe one ends up playing this week and mahbe the other into top.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Crosby get a start too he has been impressive

this is such an underrated point
So guys like EIT become mobile middles like Barnett? They have used Laban a bit through the middle this year too but he seems much more suited to an edge. These type of players may be replacing the likes of Bunty and Ale to give you that more Panthers, Bulldogs style pack. Halasima apparently spent a lot of time pre season training at lock as well.
I think these guys are more likely to move towards the middle than out towards the centres

EIT isnt the gun that Fatialofa is

EIT might've covered middle off the bench in first grade but I don't see why they'd convert him fulltime when at this stage we'll begin 2027 with JFH, Barnett, Clark, Vaimauga, TSS & Ford. Salaillo & Crosby likely by then too.
Assuming Capewell & Niukore are gone come 2027 we'll have Halasima, Laban, EIT, Gannon & Bishop Neal turning 19 as edge options. Lennox Tuiloma will be 20 as well and could be playing wider by that stage. Fatialofa may back himself to push to the front of that queue for all we know though

I think those guys will generally be able to cover both to allow you bench versatility, eg the ability to carry a hooker on the bench. The Panthers have often been able to carry an outside back on the bench due to the ability of guys like Sorensen and Henry to slide between both roles. That’s where I see the likes of an EIT being able to fill a role, and then hopefully that leaves your quicker guys like Halasima and Fatialofa to specialise on an edge.
Only theorising and going off of the comments by management around looking for speed in the side. I think those guys like EIT being in the middle also allow you to play an up tempo, possession based game. We are seeing the move away from the likes of Bunty and Ale

As much as we all follow NSW Cup and would love the club to take it out this season it takes zero precedence over first grade. Even the 18th man is considered more important.
Come on don't burst the minor premiership cup bubble its still an exciting pathways comp where some Nrl level players find their groove.
It maybe all we have if at worst our top team finishes 11th.🤷‍♂️
