It's weird though Capewell was amazing at centre two months ago. Not Webby's fault he has suddenly run out of puff. How was the coach supposed to know that. I guess we saw how slow Capewell was last week but I guess Webster figured we won and didn't want to tinker too much. Who else should we play at centre.. For all those wanting CNK to go to centre good luck with that. I know he played there against Sharks at the end of 2024 but he wants to be a full back. This is going to be a very long fire side chat with CNK to get him to accept that he is not a full back any more. I would delay that chat if I were Webster as well. CNK played well at full back about 8 weeks ago and had some good games. Looked rusty as tonight and completely useless. But Webster could not have known he was going to put in that rank performance after playing well earlier.

CNK clearly wasn't 100% fit...it made absolutely no sense to drop TT.

Capewell also off injured last week, yet started at centre and wasn't 100% either.

Webster has had a thing for playing banged up players his whole tenure just because they are experienced.

Everyone plays with niggles in the NRL at this stage of the season, but those two didn't even appear close to fitness.

Regarding Capewell at centre. The coach would prefer to have Berry there but wait Rocco is injured again. And the third choice centre seems to be in some mailaise partly his fault partly not his fault since being picked at stand off for NSW cup. There is no one else othert than either MGT or we are really getting into Morgan Harper territory. And that is politically hard for Webster as if Morgan shits the bed the pressure from the media and social media for picking him will be immense. There is no one else to play at centre unless we put Charnze there and he wants to be a fullback and will pack a sad. TMM is not going there.

Just checked my phone and had a message around 3pm that a mate had two spare tickets. I'm usually after 3 but had one of my kids out at a friends birthday party so two would have been perfect tonight.

Sure, the result wasn't the best but that is with hindisght.

The club still puts on a pretty good event so it would have been good to take up the offer.

Also gotta ask — to the fans going to the games at Mt Smart: are we a little too conservative in the stands? Feels like the crowd only really finds its voice when we’re in front. Where’s the fire when we’re under the pump?

I've been to all the games this year and actually think the crowd is at its loudest when we've been down but threatening a comeback. Also very vocal when the ref is dicking us around.

I don't think the crowd is the problem, I think it's the game plan.

CNK’s lack of attack was covered when we had Metcalf. Since his injury it’s exposed that lack of a second playmaking x-factor player.

Marata seems like he’s trying to be a wrecking ball. He runs into players full speed, does some damage but gets stopped every single time.

He needed to be run into space to pose more of a threat..

We need to get smarter with bench selections & not play favourites regarding out of form players. Next man mentality is great when injury happens, but next man up should apply to somebody out of form as well.

We also need to desperately get some genuine pace into our backline. Recruit outside the club if we have to or……..

I feel early season opposition weren’t focused on attack and we could drag them into a grind match and our attack could handle the oppositions basic plays.

Now our opposition every week seem to be hitting us with more shape and creating overlaps and our formerly adequate defence is being exposed.

So while our attack still lacks shape with no development across the season, our defence is looking shaky as other teams improve.

Our early season 2 point wins haven’t stayed that way as the opposition has lifted their game.

Rubbish he has taken us to the top four for more games now than we have been outside in the eight.

He has proved he is the perfect fit for the Warriors.

You have to remember what he is working with, our team is good if all the star players are available.

He is building depth to fix that issue.

Throwing in everyones favorite NSW cup player will not move this club forward long term.

I wouldn't swap Webster for Bellamy.

Our game plan and style of play was poor and that has to be coaching. One up hit ups set after set is easy to defend. Predictable. Boyd needs to take the line on sometimes keep defense guessing, we need support runners and attack kicks. Very boring style to watch that will never win a premiership.
