100%. Earlier in the NSW Cup season he ran for 14m in 30 mins of game time. Surely that signals an attitude issueDoes that reinforce the clubs decision to allow him a release was probably the right one?

Not as much as I regret sticking up for him and wanting him to stayZyon Maiu'u played in the Ron Massey Cup on Sunday, the grade below NSW Cup. Wonder if he regrets his decision?
God i feel stupid going in to bat for him!
Gus Gould is probably the most ruthless football manager trading players like cattle.God i feel stupid going in to bat for him!![]()
Never rated him.
Fake tough guys do nothing for me.
Zyon Maiu’u, leg Tattoos not much else.
Marata a scowl, bugger all else.
Kalani Going, Union name not much else. Was a fan favorite, fell out of favor after all realized he is pretty ordinary.
Tanner Stowers Smith, slow short and nothing special either.
Players I rate in the same conversation go along the lines of....
Laban.
Dimitric
Leka
In that order. Yes I am saying Leka is the least promising out of Laban and Dimitric (I have my reasons, along the lines of Leka is the Konrad Hurell of our forwards vs Laban and Dimitric who are tracking up there with all time names).
Anwho....I said this guy was nothing but leg tatts and got attacked.
How about now, how do you like them apples?
Was not good enough for the Warriors to retain and now not good enough for another NRL team.
Hopefully he can get an ESL contact, but frankly as a failed Warriors cup player he is not good enough for the English Superleague.
When Zyon Maiu’u came along there was a lot of forum noise. You're quite the 'i told you so' kinda guy aren't you Sup!
Btw, he's 21 lol. I think he's got talent, but probably had his tyres pumped up a wee bit, didn't think he was getting the game time he deserved so jumped ship, only to see that the grass isn't always greener. Could be the best thing to happen to him and he comes back better and more driven, he has oodles of time!

He's a 21 year old with a guaranteed NRL pay packet until the end of 2026. I doubt he, or anyone else, cares much about your opinion of him considering that you labeled Halasima "barely a NSW Cup standard player" a little over a year agoAnwho....I said this guy How about now, how do you like them apples?

Considering he was still predominantly playing Second Row for Redcliffe Colts in 2022, his 27 games of NSW Cup at Prop in 2023 was a herculean effort considering he was 19/20 years oldZyon Maiu’u is not a prop, played 6 and midfield for Kelston rugby and second row in league. Covid killed 2 years of development for Zyon Maiu’u and Jacob. Jacob stuck it out, Zyon Maiu’u didn’t. Super league or European rugby would suit him I reckon.
I haven’t seen him for a while but I heard he had some recurring injuries. In the meantime, all the juniors coming up behind him wrre second rowers. I thought Bulldogs was a bad move though, there were better clubs to go to.Considering he was still predominantly playing Second Row for Redcliffe Colts in 2022, his 27 games of NSW Cup at Prop in 2023 was a herculean effort considering he was 19/20 years old
With everything you’ve mentioned, he’s a natural talent. He was regarded as a big deal coming through so to me it doesn’t make sense. I thought when he went to bulldogs he’d kick on. McFadden said at the time we’d like Zyon Maiu’u to stay but he’s gone for a better opportunity. Should be a real wake up call for him because there’s definitely a good player thereAlso on Zyon Maiu’u, he was a junior sprinter on a number of successful relay teams for Waitakere. He was too big for individual sprint glory but always raced anyway. I’ll never knock a kid that has the guts to compete individually, whether it be track or boxing or tennis or whatever. You can have a bad day in team sports and your team can still win, you have a bad on the track or in the ring and everyone sees you fail, sometimes in front hundreds of people.
How are his tattoos even a factor in judging his playing ability? He’s from a strong Samoan family with a sister signed to NZ sevens and was in the squad that played at the recent world champs, and a younger bro the in the Warriors pathways that’s also a sprinter.
Good luck to him, if he retired tomorrow, he’s still played one more NRL game than any of us have ever played.
