With everything you’ve mentioned, he’s a natural talent. He was regarded as a big deal coming through so to me it doesn’t make sense. I thought when he went to bulldogs he’d kick on. McFadden said at the time we’d like Zyon Maiu’u to stay but he’s gone for a better opportunity. Should be a real wake up call for him because there’s definitely a good player there
Sounds like the Titans should pick him up
Put him under Moe s and Tino mentoring
Tino has Samoan heritage
Moe is from Gisborne and Tongan heritage I think

What he had over his rivals was speed which is why the Warriors grabbed him at an early age. Then they turned him into a prop, possibly out of necessity. It just works out that way sometimes. The club is getting kudos for developing juniors but they’re mostly second rowers. But we pay a fortune for spine players. I still think he’s not big enough for prop and the more weight he puts on, the slower he’ll be and he’ll pick more injuries.

I wouldn't mind us re-signing him and giving him another crack. Although I agree with sup in some ways, Cappy will know if he has the attitude to go from where he is now to first grade
We have way too many second rowers. We don’t need returning players blocking the juniors coming through either. I don’t know who his agent is but I’d get him into French rugby while he’s young given his school rugby pedigree. If he dropped 5 kilos and picked his speed back up, I think he’d kick on somewhere.

Is he fast enough to play outside back? If he is he could be a more intimidating Brian To'o.

That's probably the issue. Same story world wide in professional sports. Hard work beats talent
Talent that works hard is the greatest outcome, look at the likes of RTS. The penny might drop for him hopefully that he can’t rely on his reputation as being a star in the making and it just happens on its own but will require some hard work. He and Laban came through even in the same household at one stage with some factors I think they wanted Zyon Maiu’u to get away from. Could be a make or break moment for him

I think the talent works hard enough at training throughout the club, I’ve not heard of anyone at the Warriors labelled as lazy at any level. Adversity should breed resilience though. A bit of bad luck over a few years has tested his character, we’ll see if has the resilience to turn it around.

Never rated him.

Fake tough guys do nothing for me.

Zyon Maiu’u, leg Tattoos not much else.

Marata a scowl, bugger all else.

Kalani Going, Union name not much else. Was a fan favorite, fell out of favor after all realized he is pretty ordinary.

Tanner Stowers Smith, slow short and nothing special either.

Players I rate in the same conversation go along the lines of....

Laban.
Dimitric
Leka

In that order. Yes I am saying Leka is the least promising out of Laban and Dimitric (I have my reasons, along the lines of Leka is the Konrad Hurell of our forwards vs Laban and Dimitric who are tracking up there with all time names).

Anwho....I said this guy was nothing but leg tatts and got attacked.

How about now, how do you like them apples?

Was not good enough for the Warriors to retain and now not good enough for another NRL team.

Hopefully he can get an ESL contact, but frankly as a failed Warriors cup player he is not good enough for the English Superleague.
bit of a drive by on TSS? A bit early to write him off yet (TSS), I see him in the same boat as the 3 you mentioned Laban etc

watched a bit of NSWs cup over the years, like most on here i think ive got a keen eye for talent and should be a Wahs talent scout:ROFLMAO:, but like Sup I didnt get the Zyon Maiu’u hype, sure he had the odd runaway bustling tackle leaving players in his wake try, but way to inconsistent, even Lussick would be ahead of him just because hes consistent ....whereas i thought TTS was just a solid but nothing special player in NSWs cup, but after his debut game against the Dolphins hes exactly why hes wanted at the warriors, sure he aint going to be a Haas or AFB but I like what this kid brings, hes fast on his feet, fast PTBs, solid tackling and will only get better.... good having these young kids coming through
