It's like a cult. I don't get it - we're supposed to not like Australians unless they actually play for the Warriors.

and when I say passionate i mean screaming with joy like they've just won lotto passionate... one guy tried to jump on the table and was abruptly told to sit the f**K down by the bouncer.....
I was surrounded by maroon jerseys everywhere... banter was all in good spirit though... 👀😁

5 tries to 4. Slater isnt going to have his bday every game. There wont be a new captain in every game. Not all games are played in neutral grounds. You wont get blues playing shit in a half every game. You wont have Cleary playing injured every game. Lots to ponder for qlders on where they go from here.

The second half will give the maroons some nightmares leading to game 3.

But to be honest the result is all we wanted. Losses in the final game of the series are more painful for the loser than losing it before it even gets to the final game.

Attaboy, focus on the positives lol.

TBH, I feel Queensland have been pretty shit across both games. Just NSW were deplorable in that first half last night which cost them dearly.

Lots of what ifs, but another pretty big one is what it Queensland actually play well in that last game...

I watched most of the first half but went to sleep because it wasn't the greatest game. Did Clearly go OK? Would love to see him replaced by Isaiya Katoa if he wasn't. I know Moses would be ahead of him but there is something special about Isaiya Katoa.
Cleary looked wrapped in cotton wool a bit, looked like he borderline shouldn’t have been playing

Was there tears on your pillow at half time? You ain't gotta lie Craig! 🤣

Come on now, As a Maroons fan, 1st half i was like yeah baby! Beat these baby blue kients! 2nd half i was like - Oh nooooo! These kients are folding! Hate these fucks! I'm not watching origin again!!!
Full time i was like - Oh thank you baby jesus!! I love Queensland again! 🤣

It was a good game, Regardless of the result.
My first game of origin that I watched was the 1991 series game 2. What we have now is nothing like that. The last few years of hearing that Origin is the pinnacle of rugby league then watching something that while sometimes is better than a top 4 NRL game sometimes it isn't. Origin is not the "pinnacle" of rugby league anymore. Just a game that keeps it more insular instead of being more of a global sport.

No one is gonna throw a punch. Not even our tough guy Spencer. Everyone gathers around for a group push and shove but it never goes beyond that. It’s just handbags being thrown … waste of time … like a lion with all his teeth and claws taken out… 🥱

My first taste of Origin was in 1981 or 82. Skinny police cadet Mal Meninga. Dads brother use to send over Beta tapes of Origin and it has bonus NSWL games on it. Later on he'd send Winfield Cup and origin games on VHS.

Never seen anything like it. The ferociousness, the violence, the passion was incredible!

The 80s, 90s and early 2000s i still had the same passion for it. Then the passion started wearing off when they started stealing Kiwis to play Origin. When it became a trend in Australia & NZ to dick ride and choose sides during origin and half the people on social media didn't know a single player lol. But here they were. Up the Blues! Up the Maroons. Trying to engage in smack talk with me. No thanks....

Now, With more Kiwis choosing to play Origin over the Kiwis i turned off completely over the last 10 years. Its no longer state vs state , Mate vs Mate. Its lets see who we can steal to make Australia even more powerful. And a money grab.

I did love Origin. But I never put it above Warriors , Internationals and winning a Winfield Cup/NRL grand final. That is the pinnacle for me.

To get back to my point, Last night was close. It was full of drama. Bit of almost biffo, And of course my team won. Which made it better. Also, seeing Capewell play so well made me proud. I enjoyed the game. Better than getting our arses handed to us. I enjoyed it. It wasn't boring to me.

Understand. I picked the Blues because my first game I watched I saw Geyer do fuck all tackles but was just elbowing people in the face all the time. Cracked me up and Wally just seemed like an angry old man. Do not really care if they win though just watch hoping to see a quality game.. Would always put a Warriors, Kiwis then Toa game in that order before origin.

NSW fans have extremely short memories, which I guess is lucky for them. Only have to look back at 2020 when they were beaten by a QLD squad featuring legendary rep stars like Corey Allan, Phillip Sami, Edrick Lee, Brenko Lee and Dunamis Lui, plus Kurt Capewell playing 2 x games in the centres.

You wouldve thought they'd learn a thing or two about undeserved arrogance but it seems not.
