I disagree personally with the card that 18 and 19 year old professionals are exempt after losses due to their age.
That said I think the big picture is important and that is this was not a must win match. And probably doesn't matter that much that we lost and hence his mistakes did not cost us anything irretrievable.

Objectively in the second half we managed to hold out and work our way up field and he managed to lose the ball both times and the drop at the death was game

Major momentum swings, but you expect your Walsh and wonder kids to have these shockers to bounce back from, it’s nothing personal, he won’t be saying I am 19 it’s all good, he will be gutted and improve

I agree this is our style for the season and players aren’t changing.

But I also feel our style is limited and we are one dimensional without an attack.

How far can we go? We will compete in every game but the whole second half when we were getting fatigued, it never felt like we were going to score.

CNK is limited but suits our style. Our halves are defensive rocks but limited in attack. If we’re not going to change them, our season hinges on those halves developing fast.
With the conditions I thought we should have used Marata and Capewell better cutting back against the grain instead of spread out wider. At least something to alter the attack. That and patience.
Trying to score off every play

Leka can be forgiven. Due to his age & inexperience. Pompey in a daze and 2 metres in front of the kicker is inexcusable. Hes been around long enough to know to keep focus.

Bit harsh on Leka. A young man who has a lot to learn but he will be a star 🌟
Our attack panicked tonight and lacking patience. Trying to score off every play.
Difficult conditions and without the settling effect of Fish and Barnett
Looking at the comp we were due for a loss with all the other upsets and good to get it out of the way.
Certainly improvement on Vegas
We don’t have any speed men bar Metcalf
I m not too worried the two number one props were missing
Speed and attack intelligence need improvement AW

There is a fine line between greedy, and not being a threat. He started the latter, got it right and now he is the former. He'll calibrate on reflection. To be fair, I'd have backed him against most other oppositions to break the line in one of those. The Raiders contact was strong tonight.

Fuck I hate the Sunday night time slot.
Sunday night time slot is great for us in UK though....perfect way to start a morning.....lie in then but if tosst and coffee withe ore match build up starting!!

Thought we massively missed that punch from Barnett today....I'm not overly devastated....think Rauders are a very good side

We’re not gonna get anywhere this season with the way we’re attacking.
Don’t think we can grind it out all year, we’re gonna get exposed.
We’ve been playing well but feel like we’ve plateaued a little bit and need to make a few key changes to go to the next level. We need a spark at full back that can make something happen out of nothing. Charnze makes metres but doesn’t mean much if we can’t do anything in the 20.

Martin to 7, Metcalf to 6 Roger to Fullback his age is fine look at Teddy.
We would be in the shit without Cnk look at what happened when he was binned.
He's a verbal leader and guides our team round from fullback.

So pre-game my Metcalf KPI was kicking easy goals (3/3 tonight east and hard), not dropping the ball hot on attack (bail out by Badger) and our attack didn’t have the grubber set up so N/A

With the captains back and Marata/Cape playing well Leka can probably explode off the bench

It was a hard game with a top of the table opposition.
We will be ok, a few lessons to take out of it.
A big one for me that turned the game a little was after Horse was binned and we had them on the ropes.
CHT tried a no look pat on pass to RTS that went out, why do that in torrential rain?
Then he dropped it the next set.
Not putting the loss on him but hopefully Webby teaches him to work on his patience.
Very optimistic though, Canberra are in title contention this year and we pushed them to the limit.
