Pick Your Team Dragons v Warriors - [Round 10, 2025]

That is huge to get through the whole second half with that, what a hard bastard. The brotherhood is really showing that they’re turning up for each other
That man Deserves a DB, good onya Mate! (haha, love the old school beer adverts 👍:D) Kosi's got Mana alright, true brute sacrifice and unfortunately it might be the end of his season (he'll be back but so will our OGs.)

And, even though JFH's been invisible, you just Know he's been a massive part of this Fantastic form that we're in. "You have a job 'whomever' just do it."

⚠️ We're climbing to #1

Here’s my guess.

1. CNK
2. DWZ (back from injury)
3. Capewell (as cover)
4. Ali (assuming ankle was a twist only)
5.. Pompey
6. Cht
7. Metcalf
8. Niukore (or JFH if fit)
9. Egan
10. barnett
11. Laban
12. Halasima
13. clarke

14. Healy
15. Ford
16. demetric
17. Niukore (if JFH fit), or TSS / Afoa

We need forward power - remember Wollongong last year.

Assuming TT, Kosi, Berry ruled out. RTS not yet ready. JFH 50:50 but have a feeling he will be back..assuming Ali only minor injury and ruled out this week as a precaution only. Didn’t look too bad on moon boot - just following protocols and expecting him back in.

Other option - Harper in on left wing with Ali to right, Pompey to left centre Harper to wing.

Let’s see how busted we are.
Harper - NO. He seriously lacks pace, and would be a liability. Which is why he was not renewed at his previous clubs in Sydney.

1. TMM
2. TT
3. CNK
4. Pompey
5. DWZ

Keep the rest of the forward starters and bench the same.

TMM catching a flight down to Sydney and putting on a 63-minute clinic was enough for me. Hopefully, RTS and Ali are back next week—then Pomp and TMM go back to NSW Cup, unless TMM absolutely lights it up if he’s picked at No.1. In that case, unfortunately, TT drops to fullback in Cup.

If JFH returns, shuffle the forward pack and bench—possibly Bunty or Demetric miss out.

I actually don’t mind Harper. Have followed for a while. Is he the fastest - he’ll no BUT he is quite deceiving. He gets a bit of a bad wrap. His post contact metres are always up there and as much as people go on about his defence - his efficiency is above 90%. I don’t think he should be put as wing u less there is no one else - centre - yes. People forget - attack scores points but defence wins games. He runs hard - and straight. Others jump in the air, look flashy and run sideways. I for one will be supporting any player that gets on the field

Dont know where the 90% comes from but his defence is sitting at 80% over his first grade career which is considerably the least out of all our centres playing first grade this year, and its historically been his achillies heel over all the clubs he's been at with some real shockers along the way....altho .the way the injuries are tolling up he very well may have to get the call up.

Correct - however I am going off this year. Yes it is NSW cup. If you compare NRL games - our centres have not played as many therefore you are working from a much smaller base. Berry two
Weeks ago, seven tackles

We are only slight favorites for this: 2.13 vs 1.77. Still going under the radar!
It seems that people don't rate the unseen stuff. Like the pressure we put other teams under. It is the 1% stuff which is becoming the foundation of our team and breaking other teams down. All of a sudden other teams have a "bad game" or make "uncharacteristic mistakes" against the Warriors, but it's really our kick chase, defensive pressure and ruck control that suffocates teams. We don't have the stars of other teams (even though we are building them) but we have a system that is brutal and our players have adapted to it and embrace it now.

Fair enough but we have a direct comparison with Rocco's first grade career sitting at 90% which is a fair indication i think of the difference in defensive capabilities and where Harper's first grade limitations are evident

Man we need DWZ an Rog back. Our Centers a wings were going nowhere. Tuapiki is too small a Big Kosi plays abit soft. Berry gets rag dolled way too easy
In always astounded at how people view the games so differently.

Pompey is in career best form & demands a starting position.

Tuaupiki has been a revelation playing out of position. Solid defensively & consistently getting post contact metres & is a threat with ball in hand.

Kosi is in career best form too, I’m not the biggest fan but he’s had next to no errors, huge running meters and has been extremely serviceable for our FIFTH choice winger. To be honest I think he’s probably earned himself another contract at this rate, which is something I didn’t think would ever come out of my mouth

Berry has been a rock defensively & it showed the moment he went off we leaked 3 tries in 7min down his edge. Hes returned from a long injury lay off, and if he’s at full health is our best centre, alongside Leiataua.

I've been a massive fan and advocate for Berry, but deffo feeling like we're getting to decision making time for him.

He's played 46 games, with 7 of those (about 1 every 6 games) he has been injured mid match, so has had to come off which has forced a reshuffle. Obvs he's then had even more games off injured.

He's been around since 2021, with there being about 95 games having been played since the start of 2022, so the fact he's played less than half of those is concerning.

On top of that, I heard he was on quite good coin a few years ago, more based on his potential. I think it was around 4-500k.

Has to be 'shit or get off the pot' time for him. To think we could get a Staggs or someone like that for about another 300k is crazy.

I hope Berry comes right, but surely at some point you have to pull the plug and move on?

Might just be another Ben Henry, amazing when fit but just injury prone. Perhaps the next deal he has to take a pay cut?

I noticed that last year, getting bundled over or makes no metres when we were struggling, when he puts in 110% he's effective and very good, for 1 game then next game gets injured mid-game and our D coincidentally go to poo (Storm 2024, Cows), the Knights game almost had to come off with the bloody head.

Not sure what to do with him, and started to notice he has a loud fanbase that goes after you too lol

Maybe if he's starting we need a TT or Pompey/Ali on the bench, for backline hammies and centre cover (CNK centre TT FB), or another solution Capewell has to train as a centre every week with the right winger. Or no FG until he can string together 4 Cup games without a mid-game injury, IMO that's fair

Can't take the dragons easy, Wollongong is another traditional bogey clash for us. Last year they ambushed us because webby made the rookie mistake of thinking we could beat them effectively without a bench. Assuming Ali, Berry, JFH, RTS are out, I'd go with:

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Pomps
4. Capes
5. TT
6. Mets
7. CHT
8. Ford
9. Egan
10. Barney
11. Leka
12. Niukore
13. Erin
14. Demi
15. Bunty
16. Laban
17. Healey
Going to adjust my earlier team list. On reflection, I don't think we should be moving Capes out of 2nd row or Niukore out of the middle. They are both starting to hit some great form, especially capes. Capes and Mets have combined well for line breaks now for 3 weeks in a row. Niukore was damaging for us through the middle and him and Erin were owning the cowboys middle men before Berry had to come off and the whole forward rotation got fucked. So maybe we just get a specialist centre for this one week if Ali is out.

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Pomps
4. Ali/Harper/MTG
5. TT/Kosi
6. Mets
7. CHT
8. Niukore
9. Egan
10. Barney
11. Leka
12. Capes
13. Erin
14. Ford

If we had gone away with it in the second half (which we would have if Berry didn't get injured), I think the odds would have been heavily in our favor this week. But the closeness of the score gives the Aussies another reason to doubt us, at least for another week. Not complaining, going under the radar is what we like to do. Let them continue to ignore us until it is too late and we are already too entrenched into the top 4/5 position.
