Said this before about boysenberry
How long do you give him
Injury prone
Offers zilch on attack
Go buy a gun centre wing
He has an upside on attack in that and this is a disclaimer "when" he's at his best he runs great attacking lines whether receiver or decoy. He is a good distributor for his winger. And his kick chase is good.

He's not a Leiataua by any means. But he has value. I don't argue that he is injury prone. Sheesh it's hard watching him drop but........ Our gun number 7 has had a bad run of injuries and is taking his shot now that he's been able to stay healthy.

Add Egan to your list as well.
He has been taken a while to get his tackling technique right.
Don't see him reeling out of every second tackle these days.
Hopefully I don't jinx anyone 😬

Pompey is durable. Not exactly spectacular but he's getting there.
It was the step that I was noticing as the season has begun to recently, now it’s the fend that he’s had real success with in the past couple of weeks. Used to be a joke that he’ll never get a runaway try being so slow, but a nice read yesterday in predicting the cowboys would have a shift before halftime and sat in their line. Berry has huge upside too with that kick chase on automatic and a good defender. That break was what he’s been doing in nsw cup since his return from injury. These injuries are a concern though and it’s clear to see Leiataua attacks best on the right

Melbourne had been having an outside backs crisis as well recently. It's part of the season and very interesting to see how we manage

What does talau offer that our outsides backs don’t offer already, hes not that great on yardage and not that quick either. Dom young’s top 5 fastest players and is 6 foot 6 would be a point of difference in our back line
Stop it already.
Talau is a slight upgrade on Harper.
Young is a good first grade winger only.

Concerning that Berry is often injured. Ali now as well. I was t the biggest fan of Pompey but he is changing that :).

I would have Pompey in my team. He is usually solid. Week after week he turns up and it's very rare that he has a bad day.
I think he's a better player than a lot of people give him credit for and his confidence seems to be growing. Johnson ran the backline moves the last few seasons and generally played away from the left side so they didn't see a lot of quality ball. He looks to be loving being given the ball in a bit of space this year. And I loved the big smile when he realised that no one was going to catch him last night when he ran away with the intercept

Reality check.

Our FA is Zero

Attack we’re about 8th
Defence we’re about 8th

We haven’t had a blow out win yet while getting arsenal whipped by the Green machine and Storm

We’ve been real lucky for once being on the right side of the scoreboard.

I remember those lean years not long ago when we were constantly on the wrong side of the scorecard and missed the 8 when we could have been in the 4.

I think we are far from a finished product. One or two quick losses and we’re back fighting for a top 8 spot.

We’re good.
But we’re really not THAT good.
Not yet anyway
We're getting there tho - don't think there's any doubt about that - let's see where we are in 3-4 weeks - test is against Canberra on the return leg - this is a very good Warriors team, we're going to be in the finals, how far we go yet to be determined

They threw a thousand shots at us.

There were some absolutely flogged and gassed players out there.

We deserved to get a result out of that effort and it was great to see the team get their rewards.
Two things stood out to me. How confident SJ was going into the game, he could have had egg on his face pumping us up so hard going in. He’s seeing what’s going on behind the scenes, so for him to be so confident in what he’s seeing speaks volumes. The other one was when the camera was on Webster when Derby scored. He knew the cowboys were going to come home strong and he’s a real student of the game and obviously studies teams well along with the assistants. We’re seeing different selections each week, some just the bench altering and some injury enforced but he’s selecting the best team each week at the moment. Healey was a good selection

History tells us we play down team levels - win against the Dragons and Phins we kill that narrative

Lose and we’re back to doubting again …

Dragons are very good at the Gong.. but we have overcame that hoodoo, especially in 2023 in particular. Hopefully we can do it again next week

We just need to get up again from all the bruises and emotions. Would be good to get multiple recovered troops back to freshen up
