Cameron smith is on the market and we both want him around 5m.

Under the proposal: If I go first at $5m you respond at $5.1, I must go $5.2m and you win at $5.3m If I go first and you have $300k more you must win.

Under existing: if I go first at $5m, you respond at $5.01m. I check your squad. See how keen you are and weigh up the opportunity cost of losing smith and just up to $6m. I can still win the player as the first bidder by reacting to your bid.
This makes no sense to me Wizards - as under the proposal scenario - you didn't need to respond to his 5.1M with 5.2M you are not locked in to 100K minimums they would be a minimum. You could retaliate to the 5.1M bid with 6.0M and win,

"As a marquee half, Jimmy demands a true "BBQ" story from the owner. Minimum 200 words. Perform task and you receive power to choose an opponent and player. Opponent will not be able to bid on stated player. If bids have already been lodged, they will be deemed invalid. Valid for next round only upon completion of task."

ok wow this is quite the challenge. I do have a story about BBQing now that I have seen the hilarious video clip. This story comes from my ex brother'n law and is about a friend of his in High School we will call Fred.

In the 1970s and 1980s there used to be a great show we all used to watch on Saturday night at 6pm called Ready to Roll. Ready to Roll showed the top 20 hits each week and you could see what was moving up and down the charts.

They would play a few random songs out of the top 20, especially new ones. However they would always finish the show by playing the number one hit.
Fred was 16 years old and came up with a hair brained idea, that only a 16 year old would, that he would get naked and unzip the bean bag and climb into it and rezip it back it up so that only his head was sticking out and BBQ while the number one song was on and he set himself a goal of finishing before the end of the song. Hope that explanation makes sense.
Now the problem was that the number one song each week if it was continuously in the charts got edited slightly shorter each week just by a few seconds, but this reduction in time was pertinent to whether he was up for the challenge of finishing BBQing each week before the song ended.
He got pretty good at it and was on a winning streak of 8 weeks and quite chuffed with his game.
It all came unglued when his Mum and Sister came home from shopping and found him in the bean bag with his head poked out one evening just as ready to roll had ended and just as he had finished his goal. His mother said "What the fuck you are doing in the fucking bean bag. Get out of that bean bag right now Fred."
Fred said he couldn't. And the reason he couldn't was that he was naked inside the bean bag and couldn't stand there naked in front of his Mum and Sister.
But his Mum was insistent and furious. So he had no choice. He unzipped the bean bag and reluctantly climbed out and stood there naked in front of his mother and bemused Sister. But the story doesn't end there. His BBQing was given away as he had just finished his business and the white polystyrene beads were all stuck to nether regions giving away his crime.
He was sent to his room.
Very brave of u to share in public Fred.

I agree with bids needing to be at least 50k more than the last bid after 5.30pm. In fact I think bids should be 50k more for all bids. It rewards the person who made the initial bid.
I like your idea of 50K increments (at least) through out the day rather than a specific time. Next year we can look at 100K but 50K isn;'t much of a change from what is happening now. And throughout the day is easiest to implement

Here is my proposal for implementation starting tomorrow

1) If you want outbid someone it must be at least a 50K increment (All day long)
2) 5.15pm onwards is called the Frenzy time. You may not make your first bid on a player during the Frenzy time. First bids must be before the frenzy time begins.
3) Any posts after 5.30pm must be one player per post.

Let me know of any feedback. I am keen to put this in place tomorrow.

Hodges Agency doesnt give warnings. We also dont give reminders.
Ok, fair enough. Please note officially he has done it even though belatedly drawing your attention to it so you can take that into account for how many rounds his risk exposure lasts for.

Is there a war we can all do hidden bids prior to 5.15 and they are all then displayed at 5.15 for the game to start with the other rules?

Logistics might prevent but this would allow everyone to be on one bid at 5.30

I am ruling this out as moderator even if there is a way. I want traffic and bids throughout the day to encourage activity and banter.

This is nothing compared to the first one you were in. The General Manager game was completely consuming.
I don't think I have the appetite to ever play it again. It was incredible and amazing to play, my favourite game of all time, but it was too much. People were locked into their phones 24 by 7 for two weeks.

Gus’s Wizards would like to announce that as the round master we have 8 players we are currently in deep negotiations with this round.

As the round master our $400k per player will allow us to pay premium rates 💲

Also im not going to follow up with challenge reminders. If you havent done so/acknowledged (i usually react to post), then fines will be issued.

I would recommemd replying to post or tagging me. On that basis, even though the other team thread says the Semi Radradra fine was paid, it was not mentioned on this thread so threat of him leaving each round still stands and wont be waived.

Stay tuned about some possible walkouts soon.
Hypothetically, if the player walks, does the fine still count towards the teams salary cap?
