Social Wrighty's Player Agent Game - Start Dec 26th - Game Underway!!

I am struggling to think of answer. I don't favour your suggestion of a rolling 4 hour window as people have lives and can't be online all day.
Hey, the game has to be set up for what works for everyone, not me 🤣

I’m happy fighting it out under these rules, i’ll just play it a bit different!

The beauty of the 4 hour window would be that it relies on all other players (not just 1) strategically stopping a cheap deal, and players bidding on players they may not really want just because they don’t want someone else to get them cheap. Just a different strategic direction for the game.

The window could be6 hours?

With only 2 bids?
yes with the 2 bid rule. In fact I have the powers as moderator to introduce a new rule mid game. So maybe starting tomorrow will have either a 50K increment rule after 5pm or 100K increment rule after 5pm. I am open to feedback before I implement this.

Interesting.

it gives great power to the second bidder as you know the original bidder can’t burn off your interest through greatly increasing the price. The second bidder automatically snookers the first bidder if they are prepared to pay $200k more?

It could force people to pay top dollar initially to discourage other bidders full stop but it would discourage bargains. This favours the players who have already gained bargains.

Thoughts?

After 530, u should only be able to bid on one player per post. And higher increments from that point.

I would also add a rule, that if you havent bid on a player by 530, you cant make bids on that player in the frenzy time. Its unfair advantage due to the 2 bid limit rule.

I need an example give me a scenario

"It could force people to pay top dollar initially to discourage other bidders full stop but it would discourage bargains. This favours the players who have already gained bargains." So too unfair to change midstream in a game ? This is only the 4th round and 8 rounds to go starting tomorrow I think it might be soon enough for that unbalance to non consequential. Good fortune to those who got bargains early. I guess it could drive up prices across the board if you outbid by 100K in the last 30 minutes. So maybe a 50K floor then? Most people are outbidding right now by 50 to 60K in most cases so I don't think it would be much of a behavior change. Changing it to 100K increments could be something we do next year.

Also im not going to follow up with challenge reminders. If you havent done so/acknowledged (i usually react to post), then fines will be issued.

I would recommemd replying to post or tagging me. On that basis, even though the other team thread says the Semi Radradra fine was paid, it was not mentioned on this thread so threat of him leaving each round still stands and wont be waived.

Stay tuned about some possible walkouts soon.

These are good rules we can also start tomorrow as well. I think the higher increments should be 5pm onwards and I am leaning towards 50K after listening to wizards.

How about we make that time 5.15pm?

Can he be let off with a warning this time (Muddogz) since we know the rules now? He did faithfully deduct the $300K in the other thread. My bad as well for not letting you know.

Agreed. When people make counterbids after 5.30pm with 4-5 players in one post it becomes confusing and things can be missed.

Second part I also agree with. There is a huge advantage in this game to wait until after 5.30pm to bid. It means you have 2 bids compared to the original bidder who has 1 bid left.

Cameron smith is on the market and we both want him around 5m.

Under the proposal: If I go first at $5m you respond at $5.1, I must go $5.2m and you win at $5.3m If I go first and you have $300k more you must win.

Under existing: if I go first at $5m, you respond at $5.01m. I check your squad. See how keen you are and weigh up the opportunity cost of losing smith and just up to $6m. I can still win the player as the first bidder by reacting to your bid.
