Social Wrighty presents Forum Sheep game for 2024 - Round Five Underway

I want to have enough eligible players so that all ten contestants can mathematically on average expect to successfully pick up a player each per round. I feel comfortable changing to 17 or 18?
If you miss out on the early rounds then there will be heaps of opportunity later in the game, could even work to your advantage. Plus plenty of rounds it will be way over 20 I imagine - for example when inruin or wizard go with a question like ‘must have an A in their name’ or ‘played at least 1 game in Brisbane’.

pfff… must have played at least 170 games for Canberra and I’ll have the extra $400k to get Clyde 🤣

Let's settle on 17 for want of making a decision. I will update the rules.

We could all decide to make rounds that only give crap players.

1) only played 3 games or less of NRL
2) scored 0 tries

Etc etc

An underlying condition is that they have to be international players who have played at least one test for Aus/NZ/Great Britain/Tonga or Samoa. Therefore nearly all of those players would be reasonable.

I raise you a Tui lolohea.

Haha but jokes aside I think I have round one sorted.

Hey Wrighty Wrighty just thinking about player eligibility a bit more, what about the potential problem of rounds that have too many eligible players - as an extreme example, a round master could say must have played at least 1 test match since 1980. The game would effectively be decided by that 1 round.

I think people should just play to the spirit of the game. If they make a question like that, I think it's pretty boring.

If it's not player has a twin brother from another mother and has poked his finger up somewhere...then what's the point? (pun intended)

Yeah agreed, perhaps Wrighty Wrighty gets right of refusal on each rounds eligibility question before everyone launches in with bids.

Tyrael is correct all the round master questions should be within the spirit of the game. EG no exception clauses (pick any storm player except Cameron Smith is a disallowed question) and no questions with excessive eligible players eg played at least two tests.

1) I will add a clause to the detailed rules to this effect
2) I am not going approve each question prior to bidding starting however we can always halt bidding if I am concerned or if a contestant raises a protest to me.

I’m getting nervious.

Feel like Brownstones got his whole team locked in (with backups) and I’m still figuratively watching my potential selections run up sand dunes…

Was Bradley Clyde a good sand dune runner?
He would’ve done an acl.
Be risky forking out big dollars for Clyde- wouldn’t know if you’re gonna get the 20 year old superstar or the 23 year old broken down plodder…. :devilish:

Theres been many an injustice in the clive churchills but clyde winning it in 91 has to take the cake- poor old roycey simmons got robbed!
Actually in 1989 Gary Belcher was robbed as well. I’ve discussed this with the great man, he was of course too modest to agree.
