For in game fill in yeah. Playing minutes there in the trial wouldn't spark too much interested. Named to start shows more intent
Does anyone think this will be a permanent transition?
Will be embarrassing if we don't absolutely destroy the Sea Eagles. By my calculations we have 956 NRL games in our 17 vs. 182 in theirs. They have also only named a 20 man squad.
Just going through the Manly top 30 jeez they've got a lot of guys in there that haven't played much NRL yet. Maybe a bit of a rebuild year for them this year losing a couple guys to medical retirement/signing with other teams.

I could see him playing there this year, but no, not permanent.
If I had to guess I would say that Leka simply needs more time/experience at centre than Capewell so pre season is as good a time as any to get some.
With Rocco injured it's pretty much Pompey/Ali and then ??? - if Ali doesn't step up or gets injured again it may be Leka time by default.
I know people are saying CNK to play centre so TT can play fullback, but not sure if that's on the cards either.
Centre but more of a second rower and will end his career there or prop/lock for sure.

Can you please advise me of how you came to this conclusion. My response to you is that you COULD be right. Leka may actually be a shit center, but we do not have any evidence of this as he has only started there once, and played a handful of minutes after shifting to centre mid game.
What is it about Leka's game that makes you think he wont succeed, when many of his skills (strength, balance) should, in theory benefit from more space and generally smaller players marking him (as opposed to props and 2nd rowers closer in).
Moving Leka to center could be literally, the single greatest positional switch in the history of the game, or it also could be the worst, or it could be anywhere in between. I'm keen to hear your thoughts!

A lot stronger team in terms of first graders than I was expecting. We also don't know if some of the others you may expect to play in the trials are currently injured etc.
The main first grader I wanted to see was Boyd. If he is to be the halfback while Metcalf is out, give him as game time.
Also keen to see how a few others go with a chance to impress - Fatialofa and Kali have been in the system for a while. Then names I've heard discussed but haven't seen play in Inch and Norris.
