Bringing AFB and Barnett off at the same time didn't work, gave the momentum swing back to the sharks, while the Ford dropped balls on attack deflated us... Tuaupiki is solid out the back defensively but kills our attack... Metcalf had a decent first twenty, good try but some of his passes were shit, TMM has more silkier hands... The other day I thought we had a decent bench but we didn't use Ale. Bunty had a short stint and Walker was pedestrian... Not sure what Webster does, stick with the same players or change some out.... Hope Egan's ok we need him so bad... Still not the best use of the bench

Was at the game and the announcer was absolute crap, childish and embarrassing and the club will get an email from me and I invite others to do the same otherwise we will have to put up with it all season

I agree with Tragic above - penalty try all day and to hear the ref say he couldn’t be sure that DWZ would get the ball to ground was laughable. If no PT then at least a sinbin for professional foul yet ref says it wasn’t foul play.
The announcer was GAWDAWFUL. The announcer should never rark up the crowd, whether things are going well or not. If they're going well, as they did in bits tonight, the crowd will start a chant themselves, if they're not going well, it's STFU time. Nic Brown's not innocent in this regard, either, I have to say...

Mr Annesley's observations on Monday will be interesting. DWZ's incident was at least new set of 6 and the Sharks player on report I thought.

I think there was a bit of lip-dropping after some of the bum calls, frankly. We need to learn to deal with that crap and stick to the gameplan and hang in there.

Ah, well, we lost our first 3-4 in 2011 and look how that ended up...

Spoke to a mate that was there, he said it sounded sooooo cringe!
"I say Up The, you say Wahs" like we were too dumb to know what to do if he simply began chanting "Up The" but, yeah, he'd be better if he communicated in New Zealand Deaf Language, frankly. Just tell us the score, tell us who's going off and (this never happens, don't know why as it's hardly a surprise to the opposition) who's coming on and (this also never happens) any HIA failures...

Capewell over-rated/Injury prone
He dont have any other second rowers ready for 1st grade so stuck with them I suppose
Rts to fullback bring in Pompey maybe Ali

SJ may have lost his electric speed off the mark.

But with Wade's directness and ability to step out, he engages the markers and hold's the D up just enough with a bullet out in front. It's nearing Smither's level of marker engagement and subtle craft around the ruck.

It's what gives SJ that extra bit of time from the speed he's lost to square up, jink out and really ignite that right edge.

What i'm trying to say is, pray for Wade.
SJ going for the better percentage plays now that's the best thing I've seen. The ingoal grubber is way better than the hail Mary bomb he used to do .and there all accurate as fuck...joey John's style

Can someone explain what I'm missing with Tuapiki? I've watched every game he's played for the first grade side, the trials this year and last, Kiwi A, NSW Cup, and have never seen anything that remotely suggests he's anything but a depth guy.

He jumps around a lot but never actually beats his man. Too small to make metres from the back, and doesn't have a passing game.

As a positive, I echo what everyone else has said in that Egan is absolutely an elite hooker. His control over the ruck was next level. If we lose him we're screwed.

I have held off any major critique of him to give time. But I'll say that although I agree with you, he looked to have stepped up his game a lot in terms of physicality - thought he did himself proud tonight.

My main problem with his selection is that his strength of 'spark' is not what we need. CNK driving it up the middle today I really think makes a huge difference - we were just so sideways.

Taine is yet to show any real passing game which hurts our link play.

I'd be surprised if Taine is still here next year, I think someone like the Eels (who were vocal last year about moving Gutho and getting a star #1) or maybe the Bulldogs will look to snap him up if they suffer again this year
