Webster hopefully will learn a lessons from rushing him back
I read that Stacey said Metcalf was ready for round 1 so technically he was "ready".

I think the lesson was spoken about before game 3 vs Newy when both Laban and Niukore I think spoke about "NOT GETTING COMPLACENT BECAUSE ITS A LONG SEASON". *Disclaimer. My capital letters are for emphasis not to indicate an increase in volume.

This game feels a bit like to much going on, just got into our own hype and making so may unnecessary changes to the team. Only change should have been metcalf in

50 to 18 miss tackle count. Poor kick defusal leading to tries

Thats not on a new halves combination.

We just looked flat across the board.

Why Vaimauga wasnt in the mix is a mystery.

And this is why those who say these games shpuld be a cakewalk......jesus have u watched NRL...... any team just has to be 5 % off their game and anyone can be beaten.

Tigers the better team on the night.....100% deserved their win.

I thought Tanah had a good game. I lost count at the amount of times that he took the line on but either the support players were running poor lines or the guys out wide were too deep.. There were times there where we had numbers out wide, but he opted for the short ball which probably wasn’t the best option, but overall our attacking shape was weird tonight.

Far too much sideways running from Metcalf tonight. He was never going to set the world alight on his return, but he’s a million dollar man now so he needs to be better than what he showed tonight.

It's not blaming posters mate, sometimes we just need a reminder this is NRL and we're not Melbourne.

I am referring to the “i am worried cuz fans are too confident” or “yous are so confident look what happened” crowd lol

I’ll prep some crystal ball and taro cards next week 😂

Imagine having three great outcomes in a row then being expected to pick against our guys. I'll never know in advance but I don't regret picking us by lots. I'm a gun at being wrong

But actually - something was off tonight. Our intent wasn't there, but that wasn't lacking from our leaders. Perhaps a degree of complacency across the squad? 3 up games needs a down? Not for winners..

Also, Boyd was "fine" but felt like he wasn't playing as composed as he has the prior few weeks. (not blaming him - just saying)

I will have to watch it again, but it feels like the use of our bench didn't really give us any lift or impact. Felt like during the game we were waiting for things to fall our way rather than taking the game by the scruff of the neck.

Tigers were good, and anyone that says they aren't an attacking threat can go back to school.

I commented previously about us dominating possession in our wins and what would we be like against teams who get a more even share of it. We'll, we found out tonight. That was a terrible performance on a number of levels. Conceding that many points at home is really poor.

Comments about the conditions on Friday nights at Mt Smart. Both teams have the same and we have had two Friday night games there already this season. We train there. No excuses.

RTS and DWZ with poor handling errors from kicks and kick returns are a killer. Lot of talk was about targeting the Tigers wingers yet its our vastly experienced ones that coughed it up.

Metcalf severely under done. You don't want to look at his stats on tonight's game. Will need to improve significantly and quickly. I also don't know if you can carry both Metcalf and Boyd defensively. Both arent strong in that department and without CHT we have both edges under pressure instead of just the one.

Nuikore on an edge again. I don't like it at all. Isn't agile enough and doesn't provide enough in attack. Capewell can't come back soon enough.

Too cute with our changes for this game. Can't help but feel the original team that was named would have been better. Webster had made every right move in the three previous games but feels like he had gone backwards in this game somewhat.

Boyd was easily our best. Still racking up the try assists and pretty much was playing a lone hand most of the game. I think CHT can feel very hard done by.
Laban also, for the most part looked good too. He is going to be a weapon in coming years.

I can handle us losing, but not the nature of this one. The Tigers did to us in the last 60 minutes what we have been doing to other teams the last three weeks. And they did it at our home.

The Storm will rip us apart if we play like this over there.

Pretty much just need to flush that one and move on.
