Hi I would really appreciate an answer to this question from anyone
Why did Taine come off the field with 20 to go? HIA or tactical change?

We might have got a bit too confident with our attack after scoring the first two times down their end and then a few misses.

Some costly mistakes we didn't defend.

Usually we are pretty safe under the high ball or on short drop outs. A few misses there.

Need to move on and hopefully, we repeat last year where we don't lose two in a row until late in the season.

Webby was out-coached by Benji. They came with a gameplan to counter what we've been succeeding with so far.
Ruck speed slowed right down. Real tight spacings between defenders. Got under the skin of our forward pack then pulled the right edge apart with shape at the 40m line knowing we'd rush them. Offloads weren't well handled and Douehi is hard to stop with a full head of steam.

Pompey was rattled after his binning, it was like he couldn't get up to speed.

Bunch of players had uncharacteristically bad nights tonight. Was it the 6 agains dialled back tonight bring us right back to the pack?
I think that there's no denying the 6 agains are skewing the tide of games too much. But our performance didn't deserve the rub of the green anyway. I strongly feel too many combinations were broken up by 2 weeks of changes. Luke is quite far behind everyone else. Should have started in Cup. Barney not as effective on the edge.

Just chemistry needs time to settle. It's annoying. If we can't win with everything on our favour, how the fuck can we wi a gf? Now the Aussies saying Penrith is streaks ahead of us look right.

Agree with this assessment 100%.

It's easy to blame Pompey. His actions were certainly brain dead but we actually navigated his sin-bin period well and had chances to extend our lead to 16 which we screwed up. The blame lies in RTS and DWZ's subsequent kick diffusal which gifted the tigers 3 quick tries to get it out to 16-10. That changes the game dynamic and from that moment we were playing catch up. RTS and DWZ catch those bombs and we go into HT with the lead and it's a different game.

Congratulations West Tigers and Benji Marshall. Happy for them and their fans, this is an epic win for them.

Pretty admirable to come over here with their Star player out and give us a hiding.

As for us. I am not worried one little bit.

Seen this before over and over again, when you have a lot of players moved around you can get these issues, especially our halves combo's the Warriors are very brittle there, change a player and it is like they have to go back to the drawing board.

Still, Metcalf and Boyd are great players, we just have to give them time to click.

Other things that went wrong were signs of having an off night, it is not like we suck as a team anymore, I refuse to believe that, and Our coach is still the same guy everyone was fawning over two hours ago.
Thing is, Mets still had to come back at some point, and i still think this was the best game to do so, it's round 4, I don't get the shouldn't have changed a winning team thing.

The team as a whole were flat and in general just pretty pathetic.

There isn't a coach around who would make their highest paid half play reserve grade first before coming back into first grade.

He was coming back in as soon as he was ready.

I completely agree. I don't understand how folk can come to the conclusion that playing Metcalf in NSW cup is the solution after watching that.

Couldn't they see that the problem is a lack of cohesion and poor communication between Metcalf and Boyd?

How is that gonna be helped in NSW cup? Telepathy?

Metcalf will be right. I was of the opinion that the changing of a winning team was to make improvements. It didn't pay dividends tonight but do you think it has doomed our season?

Webster hopefully will learn a lessons from rushing him back
