Teams seem to be pulling our right edge infield leaving space out wide and we can’t slide back out to cover it
It all starts with Marata’s lack of mobility on that edge. He’s a terrible defender who can’t slide out at all.

Can't be bothered reading the endless dribble so will just post my thoughts.
Tits and a few other teams have worked out how to beat us, really quite simple.
Mo fat arse acre and Gillard know to lie all over us as the Ref will not penalise them. If we are a second too long the refs will penalise us.
Foran completely owned the ref and got in his ear the whole game, physcoligy and keeps the ref watching us and not them.
With what the tits got away with in the ruck we were never going to beat them and don't get me started on the 6 agains.

I was at the game and every set was a sense of Deja Vu.
My take outs of the game,
Marata is terribly out of farm and offers nothing in attack at the minute in the back row but straight running. He looked frustrated out there a couple of times.
Chanel and TMM offered no extra attacking alternatives last night to Tanah Boyd. Not one dummy half run.
DWZ. It’s already been said - terribly down on form.
Jackson Ford, I stand to be corrected, first subbed at the 70min mark.

Ah so it was the refs fault! We don’t have a glaring issue with our right edge defence, DWZ’s just had a career of being dudded by bad officiating. I feel so much better now about our prospects for the remainder of the season.

Should have been Healey coming in as a like for like player.
TMM made one little break and little else
Defensively he is only ever 2 or 3rd man to the tackle.
Pretty disappointing result but hopefully Webby will learn from it and it's a wake up call for everyone

Serious question - can someone explain what DWZ is doing when he ends up in no man's land?
I've watched the SJ analysis that the defensive structure has the wing jamming in, but Dallin doesn't even seem to be jamming anymore. He doesn't put pressure on the centre, and is nowhere near the winger.
It all seemed to start when he came back from injury this there. I'm wondering what's going on because it's absolutely bizarre how lost he looks, and it's not what Roger or any of our other wingers do so struggling to see what the logic is.

I think one of the persistent issues we need to look at is having TMM on the bench.
Imo it just doesn't work for us (or for TMM).
TMM either comes on for an injury in a position that suits him (like halfback for LM, or FB for Taine on recent weeks) but still hasn't really had an impact on the game, or comes on in a position where he's not suited to (like centre of dummy half) where he doesn't excel, and therefore this doesn't impact on the team and help us win.
It's not TMMs fault, I think it's a flawed plan by Webby.
The kicker is, having TMM on the bench gives Webby the confidence to put Capewah in centre, another move that actually weakens our team. So you're having two areas in our team weakened with this strategy.
Having Ali playing centre isnt going to be any worse defensively than Capewell there, but has a massive upside on our attack.
Having Healey on the bench also strengthens our team by having spark off the bench, but also allows Egan to go hard the whole time he's on the field, knowing he'll get a 20 min rest at some point.
I'd also start Niukore at prop and play for 30ish, and bring Ford on after that to finish the game

So watching the presser, DWZ will keep his spot. It’s just webbys approach, he puts full faith in his players & backs them 100%, and to be fair to him, he’s been one of our most successful coaches for this reason.
I’m not a fan of DWZ form atm just like others. To play devils advocate though, Dallin has had about 6 different centre options this year, which hasn’t allowed for connections to form. It’s very obvious our D policy is to jam, which technically is the high percentage play, forcing the opposition into a trickier long ball if they want to the points. The space that Dallin finds himself in is actually not his fault, it’s caused by his inside defenders being beaten, leaving Dallin in a 2v1 situation. For what it’s worth, I’d rather have taine there but just trying to justify some of the defensive decisions being made out there. The reality too is most players are right handed, therefore the right to left pass is their strongest side hence most of the points coming down our right side.
Webby also mentioned he’s been desperate to move capes back to edge, but due to a long list of outside backs (and lack of depth), he’s been forced to play there. As a result, it means that TMM is required on the bench to cover any backline injuries, as our normal backline cover (capes), is already playing there.
This is the group we have & we have to back them. Losing our 2 best players has no doubt hampered our premiership hopes, and I honestly think we’re lucky to be still in the top 4. I also think we have probably overachieved this year & losing these two has probably put a line through us. Take yeo & Cleary, tapine/fogarty, Hughes/grant out of their line ups & id expect the same drop off, it’s just bad luck.

One of our biggest problems in our second rowers. They should be contributing 100+m every game and be a focal point of attack.
Niukore averages about 60m and Halasima averages about 80m (brilliant 80m though!)
Halasima is better on the bench with higher impact and Niukore is better in the prop rotation. Capewell needs to move back with a proper centre. Then TMM can make way for a proper utility.
The lack of next man up has resulted in about 5 players not playing in their best position.

I agree with you. It just goes against webbys philosophy of back his players. If he moves cnk, watch the media come out in force, it’s kind of a lose lose situation. For what it’s worth, I’d be playing taine at the back, cnk centre.

Opposition teams are getting a big leg up with the weekly gift of repeat sets against the Warriors. Those calls do matter and have a huge impact on the final score as it did last night, and I am honestly surprised not many others have mentioned it so far. Ill be that guy...
It would be interesting to see exactly how long it took for the ref to blow the whistle against the Warriors for holding down in the tackle in the first 20 minutes compared to how long the Titans were allowed to lie in the tackle in the final half hour. Seemed absolutely one sided again last night from the stands and does have an affect on performance and the result. Titans were allowed to hold down longer resulting in Warriors struggling for momentum, while I found myself (and probably the players) watching and waiting for the ref to penalize us most defensive sets gifting the Titans quick play the ball. The six again’s are consistently inconsistent. It is all up to the ref’s vibe, and it seemed clear to me that the ref wasn’t vibing with us again last night.
No, I am not new to league. Yes, I hate watching Warriors lose. Agreed, the Warriors should have played better and I am disappointed in the performance, result, gameplan and team selections for this game.
We just seem to be such an easy team to penalize, and those repeat sets are just another uncontrollable hurdle the Warriors have to overcome most weeks.
