I agree with you. Not just with the injuries you mention, but all year we've shown incredible fight when faced with a bad injury situations (especially in the centres). Even last game against Brisbane, with everything going wrong, we really put up a good fight imo. Most other teams probably get blown apart by Brisbane who just decided to be on against us.

I noticed over the bye week that many Aussies are predicting that we will fall apart and drop out of the four entirely. After all the hard work from the first half of the year, I don't think we're giving up our position in the 4 without a fight. Tanah, TT and co will rise to the challenge as others have done.
The forthcoming game against the Dogs is going to be crucial. Safely over that and it's downhill from there.

Either that or a guard that no one wants to fuck with (Old saying in the boob, take away the uniforms and the Officers look more like Crims than the boob heads).

I was thrilled with his game. Teach me for being underwhelmed by his game up till now, thing is, I get the nuances that people were claiming they could see in cup ( Ruck speed is his super power) but i wager that was his best game ever yesterday, I am a convert.
I was underwhelmed by him in lower grades, nsw cup, not that he was useless or anything like that, but that he just made up the numbers.... until his deput against the dolphins where he just didn't miss a beat, looked like he had been in first grade for years and actually looked better than the dolphins bigger men... He's overtaken Afoa for that middle spot no doubt

Cnk bleeds the Jersey his Mana and communication out the back is unprecedented.
I think he will walk back in but at the same i agree Tt can't be left out either.
He will play in the position that AW believes is best for the team. To my mind, if Taina continues to impress, he should stay at no 1 and Charnz take up a centre role where his skills in setting up (or scoring them) can be better utilised.

This is going to be an interesting finish to the season. Boyd will get all the time and oppertunity to cement a place as the starting seven.

If we make top 4 still this year and he has a good finals series, then he gets half of next season and if we are traveling we'll then. Does metcalf walk back into the side off the back of another ACL?

Man this injury to metcalf has thrown a spanner in the works! Webby and co may have a huge call to make next year.
It's a good position to be in. We lose our best back and gain another who appears an able replacement. Forget next year, we must hold on the top 4 this year.

The Knights are missing two of their strike backs (Pongia and Sharpe) and I think we can, at least, match them in the forwards.
Looks like they are missing Adam Elliott and Dylan Lucas. They have Saifiti who didn't play against us in CChurch. But overall I'd say we have the clear edge in the middle again this week. Newcastle know the middle is their weakness which is why their tendency is to shift the ball away from the middle towards their damaging left edge and run around teams. Almost got Canberra a few weeks back by doing that. Dom Young is worth at least an extra try for them per game.

Why are you on repeat about something that simply isn’t true? We struggled to put away a bottom 4 side, 2 late tries made it look far more comfortable than it was. Our right edge D was horrible - any decent team would have put us to the sword. A lot of really good individual performances however no way that’s our best game of the season, not close.
I think we need to consider how we continued to fight back against a team that belie their position on the ladder. Also, the pressure put on us to retain our top 4 spot. I noted in the Press Conference that Benji was full of praise, noting that we were a tough side to beat (Api also mentioned this in his after-match interview). This may not have been our best performance, but it showed our never say die attitude that I was very proud of.

I was thrilled we won, it had been a somewhat stressful watch up until the second CHT try. I also thought Boyd did well in his first game, very encouraging for the remainder of the season. But I don’t think we beat a top tier side with that performance.

We need to take a long term perspective here. Keep in mind that this is the first game we have had under a completely new HB and FB. Was it perfect? Of course not. How could it be given this was Tanwah's first NRL game in 12 months. But given how many sides this year have completely shit the bed after losing their fullback and halfback, I think that was a really solid first hit out under Tanwah. I was expecting the attack to be a little clunky but we actually looked much more organized than we ever have under Luke. It's been 2 years since I've seen DWZ put into space like that.

Of course we will have to lift in the run up to the finals. But our relatively soft draw I think is perfect for building confidence in the new combinations. We have games against 3 bottom 8 teams (Newcastle, Tits and Phins) before facing the dogs in rd 23. I expect that we will go up a gear or two by then.
