Given we’ve got 2 losses until the next teams on the ladder catch us, if we pick up a loss, do we bring in TMM at 7 if Boyd is selected against tigers? Obviously the circumstances would need to be considered if it was to happen but do we pick and stick no matter what being that Boyd is signed past TMM?

If Boyd doesn't get a decent go at the half back position, I really will struggle to understand Websters thinking.

I realise that is not what you are asking, but it is possible that Boyd may not even get picked.

I have backed Webster all the way since twenty twenty three. But if he doesn't give Tanah a good chunk of time at seven I will struggle to understand it.

That said, I am not one to think I know better than Webster, so if that happens I will accept that there is more to the story that we are privy to, but yeah it will be hard to relate to.

To answer your question specifically I believe you have to give Boyd six games minimum. The magic number in NRL thinking.

He kept Metcalf after the Vegas shocker so…

I’d have TMM coming on at 7 if he’s out of ideas in the second half, but Boyd needs a few games to gel, maybe we need to grind a few wins again to reboot the season

If we can't get up and win this game we're in serious trouble imho.
Looking at our run home, I think we can lose two games out of the eight to ensure a top 4 position. Of these, a loss to the Bulldogs is most likely while we could afford losses to either Manly or Dragons but not both. The most likely team to challenge us are Broncos (4 points behind us with a bye to come). A much superior points differential means if they get level with us, they will take the fourth position. We are advantaged by the draw. ie Bronx: (Storm twice, two teams >12 on the ladder plus 2 points for the bye)Warriors: (Bulldogs once, Dragons, Manly, two teams> 12 on the ladder. All other teams are cancelled out.
Conclusion - a win over the tigers is vital to our chances of finishing top 4
- this is going to be a very close contest and may come down to the last round when Broncos take on the Storm (at home) and we play Manly (away).

Enjoy the ride as it is sure to be bumpy!

Bulldogs are looking a bit like us at the moment. They have lost that mid season mojo. Broncs are definitely on the rise
I am assuming that the top 3 remain unchanged but would be dependent on how they go against the top teams eg Storm beating Bronx twice, Panthers, Bulldogs and Roosters twice.
Dogs play us, Storm, Roosters, Panthers and Sharks. Both have tough draws and could drop out of the top 4, leaving a vacant space for us. It's too close to call but we have the easier run by far

Spoilers....

Yeah nah that is great.

No big surprises then, unless of course TMM made the six position (won't happen).

What do you do next year if Boyd takes this lot to the GF this year?
Anyone in the team that brings us into a GF would be hard to justify swapping out. Let alone a half that would be skipping the preseason. Metcalf would likely be stuck in NSW grade untill injury. And i'm a fan of metcalf.
