Gee a bunch of calls about our season being over if we lose to the Tigers....

Yeah nah.

The Warriors always go back to round one clunkyness when you change the halves.

There will be a two to six game period of adjustment.

Other teams may be more settled and bedded in after 18 rounds of competition hey look at the Tigers, watch their actual last game, they are playing on pride, a dangerous thing.

I expect we will drop three to four games coming in cold.

We are in a reset, next man up is all well and good, but it applies to musicians not conductor of the orchestra.
Yep with the new halves combination & after our final bye, it feels like a reset for our season halfway through

Something I really like about Boyd's game, having seen a bit of it in Cup, is the way he always straightens the attack - takes it to the line before going to his outsides - this bodes well for more second rowers being put into gaps etc.. He's not a bad defender either - I don't think we're going to gain as much as it is thought through his kicking game tho.... Metcalf's long kicking has actually been excellent barring the first couple of games, it was very noticeable that improvement... god I hope we don't play Kosi again soon ... my team would have both TT and TMM starting as many have already suggested

I personally disagree regarding this. In no way is this a slight on Metcalf, who essentially is in his first year as a half back doing the bulk of the kicking, which did improve significantly before getting injured, but he didnt seem to find the grass that often, or wasnt really able to consistently give our kickchasers like Capewell and Berry the chance to compete.
I'm hoping this is something Boyd is able to offer a bit more, so we're either able to have a bit more field possession and even come up with a couple of dropped balls from opposition wingers or a catch or two from our chasers.

Agree to disagree on this - specifically referring to his long kicking, there was a massive improvement - obviously Boyd is very good and am looking forward to seeing the pressure game plan really on point with what he provides (assuming of course that he will be 7)

I thought once we got out of our own end in decent positions Luke always put it on the 10m, the difference was whether it was Cape/Berry chasing and shutting it down or Ali/MGT letting them run back 20m

Given we’ve got 2 losses until the next teams on the ladder catch us, if we pick up a loss, do we bring in TMM at 7 if Boyd is selected against tigers? Obviously the circumstances would need to be considered if it was to happen but do we pick and stick no matter what being that Boyd is signed past TMM?

I feel like it'd be short sighted to not pick and stick with boyd. At least for 3-4 games. He deserves that from his NSW grade performances. Plus as with all halves it will take a bit to build that connection, so it will only get better. Gotta think past this year as well... Who knows who will stick around as a half at the warriors, i think Boyd is even less likely than Metcalf if he comes good. But iron sharpens iron and there both here in 2026.

I reckon Webby backs his decision and locks it in until injury forces his hand.

Niukore and Fish as our starting front row is concerning. Neither have real punch in them, and could quite easily get rolled by the younger duo of Pole and May. All of a sudden our middle stocks are a bit worrying, maybe We rotate Ale and Afoa in more, even Salalilo.
