The only question is whether they opt for the kicking game of Boyd or go with the game management of TMM?

We've seen how well TMM has gone at 7 last year when he has full control, I'd be going with him to replace Metcalf. What a time for TMM to go out and earn his next contract.
Maybe I'm going mental but I don't recall TMM doing much of note last year in the 7. Boyd's vastly more experienced in the position in first and reserve grades and IMO offers a much better boot.

TBF he went OK in the 7 .Not in the 6 tho especially outside SJ. Goes missing @ 6
For me its a simple solution .Just slot Boyd straight into the 7 .
Less disruption & CHT has been going great .No brainer for me.

In reality Berry will probably come in and we will need to drop someone to make room, most likely Jacob Laban drops out and Capewell takes his spot in the back row.

You can see where there is a niche in our team for Morgan Gannon who would afford the team an extra forward/half/Center. And I take Te Maire's use as a forward as further evidence that the club want that type of player as a staple to their team selections (Gannon will go NRL next year - if he gets through the trials okay, he is almost a certainty in my opinion).

Why reselect Marata. He s doing not very much at all. Should mediocrity be constantly rewarded. Is that you coach AW?

I actually feel sorry for Boyd.
If he plays well, people will say that was expected
If he plays below best, the poor bugger will get crusified
I think if our forwards especially our props including JFH Marata and Ford can perhaps play near their potential best Boyd will look good.
However if 1/2 or 3 of those props play in similar style to the last two games v Broncos and Penrith you may be right.
