Our defence is a huge improvement on last year.

Now need to get our attack sorted. I can kind of forgive some of the early season with the changes in personnel. Hopefully with the two main wingers back and Leiataua we can get some stability.

The above is out wide. We still need to get the shape working from our spine.

A few clubs have said this year they have got their defence sorted by working on their attack. Mainly not turning over the ball so much. That is the opposite of the traditional get your defence sorted first.

We have the defence sorted and typically play out high completion rates. So just need to figure out how to create some space.

It wasn't ugly. It wasn't pretty.

It was lacking in composure.

It was lacking in execution.

It was A+ for effort. F for dumb shit and inability to match physicality.

They beat us up. We lacked the exact stuff Barney and Fish provide. We got bitched by Canberra.

They nullified our attack. We panicked and earned a loss. It's not at all doom and gloom.

Think the big take away is probably win with fish there. All in all I know we were faves (not sure how) but decent go.

TMM is cooked I don’t want him near this side, like to be 10 meters a head and not be able to chase fogaty down is the nail for me. RTS should have been there
We were down a fullback and getting run through. I disagree on first sight but will stand corrected if my viewing of the replay shows TMM is cooked.

Our halves have no idea on attack. Metcalf is a greedy player. Trying the hero plays with nothing on. Channel, Is a defensive half. Nothing else.
Leka needs to come off the bench. He's an impact player.
There is a fine line between greedy, and not being a threat. He started the latter, got it right and now he is the former. He'll calibrate on reflection. To be fair, I'd have backed him against most other oppositions to break the line in one of those. The Raiders contact was strong tonight.

Fuck I hate the Sunday night time slot.

How? Not our halves ? Or non existent centres ? Lol
That was my read too. I thought the halves were pretty much what they do every game. Although CHT is a defensive machine as is Metcalf. But Ali and Pompey were MIA on attack. RTS tries hard and that try was awesome but not beating anyone for speed anymore. No changes except Barney and Fish back. Be good to see Berry back at some point too. DWZ still to hit his stride.

Raiders deserved the win unfortunately. Tapine plays to the edge massively. Two quality defensive teams and we were pretty close to tying it up. They’ll put a lot of points on other teams.

Loss was going to come sooner rather than later so in the grand scheme of things so all things considered going down by 6 to one of the top 2 teams currently that we went down by 20 to earlier in the year, missing 2 of our best players in a game that could have gone either way isn’t really all that bad.
Attack is still a bit concerning and I was fully expecting us to score at the death and this be the game LMs goal kicking cost us.
Hopefully this reignites the fire and we reset for next week

Lekas handling errors really cost us.
CHT was non existent again, that attempted steel on the 4th was just brain dead.
Why in wet conditions you would go wide in their 20 on the 1st and 2nd tackle was anger inducing.
Capewell, Clarke and Ford were huge, Egan was good but can't say much for the rest, which is pretty strange since we only lost by 6.
Also just think how angry we get during a game, but I bet none of us go off grid like my missus and wanted Tapene to get stabbed after the game, and she's the sane one in the relationship lol

Hope we don't go overboard with criticism here. Without Barney and JFH, that was a very decent effort tonight. I think many of us predicted we'd get steamrolled up front like in Vegas. But if you look at the stats, it was a very even game in terms of meters. We certainly held our own in the middle. In my biased opinion, If either JFH or Barney were out there, I think we are more calm and collected in the critical moments and we close out another win. We certainly had the opportunities to win this towards the end and I thought we finished the stronger side. The winning streak had to come to an end eventually. I'm glad it came in the form of a proud and gritty loss rather than a 40 pt shellacking. That's a performance that a top 4 side dishes out.

Raiders haven't seen the last of us. We'll be meeting them in the finals no doubt.
We’re not gonna get anywhere this season with the way we’re attacking.
Don’t think we can grind it out all year, we’re gonna get exposed.
We’ve been playing well but feel like we’ve plateaued a little bit and need to make a few key changes to go to the next level. We need a spark at full back that can make something happen out of nothing. Charnze makes metres but doesn’t mean much if we can’t do anything in the 20.

Martin to 7, Metcalf to 6 Roger to Fullback his age is fine look at Teddy.
