I've was thinking about this last night. It's hard to comprehend how we replace AFB but then he appeared to have a reduced role or certainly reduced minutes and yet we covered for them. Quite often you find one or two players dominating isn't as effective as several players covering it.

Examples: AFB at prop, CNK at fullback, SJ at 7. Three dominant players heavily involved. Yet on the weekend, and I know it's a sample size of one game, but there roles were changed, reduced or in SJ's case replaced. Don't take this as trying to diminish their contributions or that we are better without them, all I'm trying to say is that we looked better with everyone contributing and getting their crack at it

The analysts said the same thing about the Knights, everyone went up another percent to cover for Ponga and they're winning

Penrith were not prepared for that, that's why I think we'll still need the seniors to come back eventually as other teams will work out their tactics against our NSW Cup side 🤣 Just match the intensity please, don't save yourselves for the finals

Injuries are an inevitable part of a high contact sport (as shown by the number of our blokes sitting on the sidelines at the moment), when was he last suspended? (he has mended his ways and now hits hard but with zero penalties), recovering (same as above) or dropping the ball (very rarely - he made 20+ hit ups with no dropped ball).
Yeah it was just a piss take, he is at his premium a brilliant player he's shown that with his Daly M.
I also just wanna continue to see him on the upper injury free.💪

Exactly. It's a team sport and relying too heavily on an SJ or Walshy or a Cleary is too much and unsustainable. There are good lessons and perhaps this season isn't terminally ill

Haven’t read all the recent posts but did anyone else notice Fords poor lines he ran on Tuapiki’s try? He ran a decoy square on into Edward’s chest. He’s def been penalised for the same action previously. Edward’s then bounced off and was only 2-3 strides off reaching Tuapiki. I think the rules an ass, but for consistency’s sake, I was sure that was gonna get pulled up.

I think it was fine.

Clearly running towards inside shoulder IMO.

Which is good as he has been messing it up the last few weeks.

Would like to see him back on the left where he seems more natural

I watched the second one too (Tago straight around him) and I reckon his slowness is due to again having to defend two runners. Once he knows he is behind and misses. His only other hopes would be:

1. Roll the dice and take someone
2. Get faster. At reading the play and getting to your man
3. Figure out how to get an extra defender there as fast as the opposition gets their extra.
Agree, watching him react to the play unfolding, I could see he saw what was happening and he had to stop their center from going in but he just didn't have enough gas to get there, reading play ok, but the body (muscles) not fast enough.

It's a move every team does. I reckon a key to defending it would be that Taine covers the opposing fullback who is often the extra man on attack creating oveelaps

So you (not an expert) don't like when other posters (also not experts) discuss the Warriors in a Warriors Discussion forum?

There is nothing wrong with sharing your opinions and defending players and staff if you feel the need (that’s kinda the idea of this website) but if you are the same playing field in terms of knowledge as everyone else, perhaps try to disagree with posters without talking down to them or throwing a cheap insult out there if that is the case.

Or maybe refer to the Mental Health PSA posted today; if you find this forum is bringing the worst out of you, maybe take a break.

That is my rant over. I can’t wait to hear about how my missus must not love me anymore or some other dribble.
You clearly can't comprehend what I am saying, you asked me why the team had a run of losses, no one on here is qualified to answer that, myself included, but I can tell you for sure that bringing in Ed Kosi and Pompey is not the answer and 90% of the rest of the idiotic ideas on here.

Let's be positive. What were the 10% you considered not idiotic? Did you make a favourable comment about any of them or perhaps a "like"?

that was fucking amazing!
i picked panthers by millions.
my wife and i aren’t betters but she opened an account and put a bet on just to spite me.

Hi Bro, just wanted to share my win too.

Up the Wahs!!

All arguments aside. How good was that outcome.

Wowsers!!! Ive re watched that game so many times and it was such a welcome sight seeing a team approach get the result. Against such horrible odds too. Well done team.
How shocking was that penalty at the end aye?

Fucking T’oo was tackled on the grown then allowed to play on then Pompey smashes a guy who clearly loses it forward then CNK strips the ball and gets penalised.. good Dylan can’t kick to save his life or I would be filthy! I need to shower 🚿

And all from a player who has had limited minutes. He didn't seem to run out of "puff" but I don't think Dylan appreciated him getting in his way, when the line was open, and he ran into Roachie..lol

Disappointed Paul Roache didnt make the bench for the Wahs. His service from Dummy half was crisp and precise on both sides of the ruck. I think Freddie L. could learn a lot from this. Not one forward pass, and was always aware that the ball is live. Freddie seems to be always looking around and loses focus on this part of the ruck.

Seems reading ahead of the play too always having his arms out asking others where to pass to

I don't think Cole loses it forward in the Pompey tackle - he bobbles it but it doesn't hit Pompey or the ground, then he manages to propel it back behind him as he hits the deck.

Also not sure that To'o was clearly tackled and on the deck before he released it.

I'm just happy Edwards goal kicking wasn't as good as Taine's.

The ball would be called lost normally, the ref was snubbing us with late tackles on TMM already, what normally would happen was ref call knock on, Panthers challenge, bunker rules backwards, Panthers with 6 more tackles inside our 40m scores and win

Or lost ball play on as how it played out, CNK doesn’t play the ball, Panthers score with that set and win

So Charnz raking the ball was a total 4D chess move to win it 😱🤯

I think I get what you're saying in that usually when the ball bobbles out in contact if there's any uncertainty whether the ball hit the defender or landed forward the ref will usually rule that it did. I just think in this case with Pompey's tackle being so far underneath the ball and the ball landing behind him the ref probably had a clear enough view to rule play on.

I agree that TMM should have earned a penalty for being taken without the ball though.

Yes To'o's play I one eyed fan thought "tackle was completed." Then when Pompey smashed the Penrith 6 the ball was separated from him before he regathered which is an automatic knock on. But because Montoya had hands on ball carrier is what I think CNK got penalized for due to two in the tackle. Penrith fans could argue that Nafe would have nailed it and we could argue whatever we want but finally what can't be argued was the outcome of the game so Im not filthy just happy

That in my opinion was his only issue. But yeah it was a try killer. Shepherding your own man. Defending your own man. Haha
