Again, as in Vegas, our two young bucks (Halasima & Vaimauga) don't come on until later in the second half. Just checked the stats, both played less than 20 mins!

Maybe this is Webbys take on the bomb squad strategy used by the springboks to rip shit and bust the close of the game? It actually worked last night to close out the game.

Seems bloody risky to me to keep two bench players in reserve until the last 20 mins. This strategy runs the risk of the game being out of reach after 60 minutes like what happened against the raiders last week. And if it's not a deliberate bomb squad bench, then what the hell is he doing with his bench use!?

I guess it has the potential to work while we have our best 17 available and Egan playing 80. The strategy is also probably unsustainable without both Fish & Barnett being available.

Long story short, I'm still not sold on the use of the bench.

I won't query Webby any longer, a great win that was totally unexpected by myself! Long live the rollercoaster!
and Andrew Webster too lol.

What are we thinking re: the current back 5 of:

1. CNK
2. TT
3. Ali
4. Pompey
5. RTS

Berry looked to have a solid hitout. Reckon he will come back in after the bye perhaps. DWZ still a while away.

I'd be looking at:

1. CNK
2. TT
3. Berry
4. Ali
5. RTS

Think Ali and RTS can be a scary combo. Also feel that Pompey is really solid depth, brilliant to be able to call on a player like that when needed.

Yep Berry once back would surely go on the right with Ali shifting to the left to partner RTS.

This is the most optimistic I have been about RTS in years. Wing is his skillset and once he tidies a couple of things up, he will be great for us I think.

He is nuggety these days with great power to go with his step. He will be very hard to stop close to the tryline
Another thing underrated and kind of forgotten attribute that he has is hops - RTS can jump. Will be interesting to see how he fares against one of the two giants next week in either Daniel Tupou or Dom Young

We had Metcalf saying he needs time with players around him to improve so should we change Ali (and later TT) so soon during the season?

Traditionally the right side is the favoured attacking play for all teams so I would keep Ali there as with DWZ, Niukore and Metcalf, they will score a lot of points.

I back Berry to smartly create good space for RTS that Ali perhaps can’t.

Seems a win/ win but wouldn’t surprise me if Berry goes right either.

Once we can score from Lange range we’ll be a serious threat.

Charnze and Pompey need to be replaced. Both are slow and don’t offer much on attack. Pompey gets burned on the outside far too often as well.
There’s a few options to replace them.
When Dallin is fit goes straight back to wing with Taine shifting to Fullback, Rocco to centre. Or Martin to full back, Rocco right centre, Ali left.

Why are we assuming that AW will drop Pompey for Berry?

Him and Metcalf again. Maybe theres a bromance happening that will make them both better players.

Might explain why AW is taking the "risk" of leaving out tmm especially.
Fairly sure when they interviewed Metcalf after the game that he said he spends time with CHT outside of training. Couldn't find it online but it was the Sky Sports interview straight after the game.
