yup. And cold (2 degrees this AM). Shame it's not a Queensland team, be nice payback for the mid afternoon early season games in 30 degrees we usually get lumped with.

Complete digression here but is anyone else disappointed that we don't have an ANZAC jersey for this game? After all the coolness of the Pacifica jersey last week, I thought we'd have a really cool new design for this week. We're normally creative with jersey designs. Kind of jealous of the Newcastle ANZAC kit for this week.

Complete digression here but is anyone else disappointed that we don't have an ANZAC jersey for this game? After all the coolness of the Pacifica jersey last week, I thought we'd have a really cool new design for this week. We're normally creative with jersey designs. Kind of jealous of the cool Newcastle kit for this week.

Heard online that this year you can only have 3 jerseys this year. I.E Home, Away and special occasion. We picked ours to be pasifika. Others will have picked Anzac.

I'm sure they'll have one next year.

I only see attacking stats.

Shame there's no stat for tackles made, first tackle made after the kick to the corner, lines run to give space to the winger and fullback.....

I wonder if the path for Berry is ala Capewell and into the second row... fit, skillful, strong and tall a nice change of body type to our young bulls. A couple of years away yet mind you. Could say the same for Ali I guess. Loving our options at centrewith them + AP.... + CNK at a push.

Bit of a shame as I love our indigenous jerseys and it looks like there won't be one this year. But I think the NRL is trying to make it so customers only need to get one jersey every 2 years.

Man for man we have them easily in the middle but their back five worries me. They are the worst attacking team and near the bottom in running meters, but they actually lead the comp in tackle and line breaks. 4 of the top 10 tackle breakers are Newcastle players (Marzhew, Best, Gagai and Ponga). So we need to take them out of the game. Luckily for us, they are also their achilles heel: Marzhew and Ponga are both in the top 3 for errors. Marzhew in particular is a liability under the high ball and is 2nd highest offloader in the league. I'd be telling Metcalf and CHT to target him day and night because chances are he'll do something stupid at some pt of the game.

Losing streaks all come to an end sooner or later and we have a nasty habit of ending a few for other teams, our record in the 'occassion games' ain't that great either. It's often the intangibles that come in to play for us in these types of games.

I'm cautiously confident.

For a club that drops 10 jerseys a year, that's bloody odd we don't have a anzac jersey.

The biggest thing about this game too is the absolute savaging the Knights have had all week from the media with their attacking stats etc. It will be desperate backs to the wall stuff from them.

Disappointed that after all the talk about getting the ANZAC game in NZ, we’re taking it around the Country. I hope we can get it back at Mt Smart. I’m a little nervous because of the “away fixture” nature of it. The club doesn’t have the best record with these occasion matches and to then take it away from Auckland doesn’t make sense.

I’m okay with the jumper, I just want the win to get the monkey off the back.
