I’m not saying he’s not a great player and may just slot back in seamlessly, but the playing dynamic is we’re winning with the players we’re using. For all the shit Kosi gets, I’d be happy to see him left wing, Pompey left centre, Tuaupiki right wing and Leiataua right centre until RTS and DWZ return. To me, that’s the best our attack has looked this season. We’ve all got our views we’re entitled to, just like inruin regarding Metcalf and our halves. Where I’m coming from is Berry isn’t really deserving of his spot in my view from a bit of good nsw cup form after a long layoff, but he’s obviously in their plans going forward and the coaches are there first hand to see all the reasons why they’ve selected him. I certainly wouldn’t bet against him to get back to good form from a while ago now that you’re pointing out
Saying Kosi should be picked above Berry (or anyone!) Is an insult. I doubt Kosi could make any other teams top 30

I'd pick Kosi over Berry lol, dude hasn't dropped a catch for 2 games, maximize Pompey's ability at centre instead of dropping the bombs or being slow at the wing, then keep the dangerous Ali/Taine right edge combination, over Pompey on the wing, Ali disappearing on the left, Berry not knowing his winger not named Dallin 🤷‍♀️ Call the cops
Sum of the parts type stuff. Kosi or Berry on the wing for mine and keep Pompey and Ali in the centers.

I hear what you’re saying, but I think big Ed just has too many errors in him for a first grade spot.

I’m surprised he’s getting picked over Harper, maybe yardage in the wet from a bigger body, but his ball security under pressure and slow turns leave us vulnerable every time he plays.
Kosi's had some Shocking Drops and missed Some tackles, previous, but I reckon he has earnt the right to be up in there (not that he is this weekend.) He did some normal Kosi things last Saturday Except Drop the ball and Miss tackles. I'm literally waiting to see if and when he will offload the ball now because he can and Does well. I'm the same about Demi too!

I'd like to see Harper play out of his skin to keep a wing spot in FG though (y)

2 games! Wow, wait, didn't he butcher it in goal that led to a broncos try

Question...I know generally centres have a specific side of the field, is this the same for edge forwards or is it a bit easier for them to swap between left and right?

Switching sides for forwards is much easier.

They are not passing the ball a lot in most cases and therefore directional passing is less of an issue as it might be for Centers.

Forwards are tackling specialists in all directions and the position itself ensures that they are moulded to tackle anything that moves in any direction.
Centers on the other hand tend to develop a bias for tackling in the direction the ball is spread toward their opponents wing, there are exceptions of course like anything, great defensive Centers can handle runners cutting back on the inside past their right side - but some centers struggle (which is why when you bang a second rower out to Center - provided they are mobile - they look instantly good defensively at Center).

The main issue with left and right of the Scrum relates to combinations that individual forwards form with their halves partners. That is when left or right loose forward matters - you saw this with Shaun Johnson - he would develop connection with his preferred back rower. The same is true of defensive pairings, some backrowers and halves just play better together in defence, or probably more to the point, if you have a weaker half in defence, you put your best tackling backrower as their minder.

Lastly if we are talking about a club like the Warriors that tends to be biased in it's attack to one side of the field, you want your attacking backrow running forward to be on that side if they are playing edge.

We're playing this game? Remind me how many games Berry has strung together in the last 10 months, and how many points Berry butchered on his edge against the Storm again and shifting the entire backline for him, in 1 game!!!  😭🫣🤣

And let me know how you get on catching the Reynolds' grubber in the rain for a Arthurs' knock on?

I don't think Kosi has any die hard fans out there. Rather people try to see the good in him when he does do stuff well - because frankly his often cock ups are so bad that he can only get better.

I feel a bit sorry for Berry falling out of favor too.

Obviously Rocco was wildly overrated (most of it in fun) and so now that he is struggling a little, the fall is long way down from being the GOAT.

I am hoping Berry cracks it. I would have liked to have seen Ali keep that right side spot though, that try scoring has gone....

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with some of the back line opinions in here.

TT is a fine backup but from reading these comments you'd think he was the second coming of Slater. He's agile and has a spark, but he's also a massive defensive liability, gets dominated 9 times out of 10, and really struggles on yardage sets.

On the other hand, Berry is hugely underrated by many on here. Did he play well again the Storm? No, but who did. He also did a pretty nifty finish despite the obvious rust.

The backline at full strength will be CNK, RTS, Ali, Berry, DWZ, I can guarantee it.

TT and Pompey are next cabs off the rank. They will get their moments. Great teams rely on depth to win titles - how many grand final teams have trotted out their strongest possible 17?
