We’re tactically using our energy in the wrong areas and it has cost us the season.
We have strong aggressive defence once the tackle is engaged but are to exhausted to make tackles due to fatigue. Many holes from tired defenders and to many times players left on the ground instead of at marker. Put less in after the tackle is engaged and more into marking in defence.
We are the king of post contact meters on attack… and then have nothing left in the tank to score in attacking positions. Slow motion dummy runners, players to deep, a step to slow to make a break, etc.
Same every week - we dominate the stats but the opposition outscore us and we can’t score enough points.
We’ve trained ourselves for endurance at the cost of speed and quick reflexes.
And to cap it off our intensity in the contact; fighting out post contact meters and bodies aimed at endurance, have resulted in the most injuries in the NRL.
A lot for the coaches to think about for next year.

youse got what youse wanted. Ale is terrible, leiatua and mgt way off.

But yea leitua ain’t up to FG with that defence
There’s no excuses for a game against a team on a massive losing streak. And just like that our chances are most likely gone. That robotic playstyle we’ve been going about has to change because teams know how to deal with it and we waste energy just defending and defending without putting points back on the board once the opposition gets going. A year to forget
Luka mikiafu was no fluke when we went on that run mid season last year.
I also miss Curran and Sironen
Isnt it amazing what they can pull off in the last 10 when they NEED to try score.

Challenging the All blacks? mate we can’t even challenge when our life’s are on the line at home against one of the worst teams in the comp who haven’t played in NZ in 8 years!!!

Highlight of my night was watching Zoe Hobbs run a season best to qualify for the next round of the women’s 100m

Now the season is done we gotta keep picking the young guys.
We can't afford to just give them a taste of FG then back to Cup, or sit on the bench for 72 minutes, they need to learn in First Grade.
