🤖 Thread Summary

The Warriors' recent loss to the Dolphins has sparked extensive discussion among fans, with many acknowledging the team's valiant effort given a depleted roster. Despite the narrow defeat, some, Stalefish540 #202636, highlight Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's outstanding performance, and others are impressed with debutant EIT’s performance. Others expressed concern over the team's inability to close out the game, particularly in the final minutes, with several posters noting how players seemed to be standing around passively, failing to pressure ball carriers, Beastmode #202491. There's also debate regarding specific player performances, particularly Jackson Ford, sydneywarrior92 #202577 defending his contributions amidst some criticism, while others are not convinced by his impact.

A major point of contention is the two-week suspension given to Felise Kaufusi for a tackle that resulted in a season-ending injury for Jacob Laban. Many, The Salary sombrero 2 #203499, consider the suspension laughably inadequate, given the severity of Laban's injury and the perceived intent of the tackle. Others, Boats n Hoes #203544, draw comparisons to other recent suspensions, arguing the NRL's inconsistency is glaring. This incident has intensified feelings that the league's disciplinary measures are insufficient to deter dangerous play.

Beyond player performances and controversial incidents, larger strategic issues were also discussed, including the play-calling in the final minutes and the team's overall attacking arsenal. Some fans, Dannevegas #203004, believe the Warriors are too content with mediocrity, arguing that the team needs to take more risks and adapt its play style. There's also discussion about the role of trainers on the field, with some, Boats n Hoes #203636, believing they are overstepping their boundaries and influencing the game too much.

To those celebrating the loss as if it were some great accomplishment, and thinking everything is just wonderful, I'm glad the antidepressants are working on you.

To those who are understandably frustrated, you have every right to be upset!!

I was ready to overlook DWZ's inability to tackle. Forgive him for last weeks sin bin, praise him for that fluke intercept. Ignore his lack of situational awareness. But that compassion is now gone. On the fourth tackle, with only a few minutes left to play, swinging his arms like a pro wrestler. It was absolutely outrageous to give away a penalty like he did. Absolute muppet of a player. Something needs to change with that guy. Like cut his dame hair off or something.

And Leka, what were you even trying to do? Were you hoping to milk a penalty by just lying on the floor? How was the view from down there? I couldn't help but notice you looking up repeatedly as the ball passed by... Seriously, stop imitating DWZ with all his Hollywood theatrics. Get your arse off the ground and get back in line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We could have., should have but in the end didnt win what should have been the defining game of the season for us.

Fuck off with all the positivity nonsense.

His inability to make the correct decision is becoming terminal and also spreading. Can we pair Kosi and EIT? We need something for that edge

I went into the stats to find some ammunition to diss Jackson Ford given my agenda to run him out of the team but was surprised to find he wasn't the biggest liability on the field last night.

Negative Plays Leaders
Ford - Errors 1, Penalties 1, Ruck Infringements 1 = total 3 negative plays
Erin Clark Errors 1, Handling Errors 1, Penalties 1 = total 3 negative plays

Your "Winner"
Leka Halasima 2 Errors, 3 Handling Errors = total 5 negative plays

No one is happy about the loss, it was frustrating. But the effort was there last night. That is what people are saying and there is nothing wrong in acknowledging that part of it. As for Dallin he did make some mistakes. But his grazing head high was not as bad as you are stating, your name calling is silly and leave his perm alone.

This is why stats need context. We bombed to Leka. He’s always going to have higher error rates, irrelevant.

And fords error or penalty was that ref ping, which was harsh tbf

Genuinely don’t know the reasoning behind running the ball on last twice. 12 men and they want to chew up 5 tackles for time when if we take the 2 the clock stays on. How are NRL players not aware of this

Running the ball on the last when you're in their 10 is the right percentage play. Yes, maybe throw a little more effort up on attack but the last thing you want to do is either give them a 7 tackle set through a grubber going dead or catching a bomb in goal, or throwing crazy offloads or big cut out passes to the wing.
With 2 minutes to go you don't wanna give the opposition any more of a piggy back up field.

Back your defence (which has been our strength all year) to hold a 12 man team from scoring. Right play, wrong execution unfortunately

Tell us how you're really feeling tho

The defining moment for me was in the dying moments of game. Fins decide to go for corner instead of taking 2 points and going to golden point. With the highest points scorer in comp as thier kicker. They just knew they could Crack our edge defense. Real confidence. Rts Ford Capewell Clarke all had good games.Just a bridge to far in our current state.

That was not the reason they did that though.

Isaako wasn't able to kick for whatever reason probably had some leg issue, and their lack of kickers is why they went for the try. Hence Katoa absolutely butchering a sitter conversion after Isaako's try.
