I was at magic round 2 years ago when the refs went nuts with the sin bins across the whole weekend. This weekend makes me nervous that we are going to see a repeat.

I have a feeling they will over correct and our boys will be bashed in the faces and cleared by the same bunkers

The wet weather has played in our favour this season, imo.

It neutralizes quick play and promotes forward pack play as the best strategy.

Alot more forgiving for a developing halves pairing.

If we had played Melbourne instead of Souths on that wet, rainy Friday night, we might have had the chance of pulling off the upset we all dreamed about 2 weeks earlier.

Interestingly the bs machine has us getting smoked by the cowboys. Who are according to that statistical model are the 2nd best offensive team and the 6th best defensive team. Compared to our 13th best offensive, 8th best defensive.

Feels interesting that to a lot we are still quite heavy underdogs. Feels less like a banana skin game and back to the normalcy of faith/hope.

If The Cows are the 6th best defensive team in the comp come the next 5 games i'll eat my cowboy hat .... that guy's ratings have some weightings that i don't think have adequately caught up to the the way the comp has played out so far ... that said i do check it every week

If The Cows are the 6th best defensive team in the comp come the next 5 games i'll eat my cowboy hat .... that guy's ratings have some weightings that i don't think have adequately caught up to the the way the comp has played out so far ... that said i do check it every week

Interestingly, if you look at the chances he puts on making the top 8, there is already a distinct gap between the the top 8 and the rest - he has the 8 settled at (in order) : Storm, Dogs, Raiders, Cows, Broncos, Manly, Sharks, Us in 8th....

How can webby keep Healey out of this team! Man that kid is killing it!!!

Egan has been killing it in the grade above though. Wonder if it's partially cause Healey is putting a bit of pressure on to play well though Egan has been going pretty well until that elbow injury last year.

According to some "experts", we have the worst roster in the comp, even worse than wests. Many of these same "experts" also had Canberra in the bottom 4 this year. Conversely Manly and Sharks were supposed to be premiership contenders. Goes to show that nrl outcomes are not a predictable science and at the end of the day a statistical approach is as informative as faith/hope. I don't pay any attention to these trackers or even the betting odds for that reason. Many of our wins have featured us as heavy underdogs (especially the Manly and Brisbane wins).

I'd say TT to NSW cup/18th man. Rather than lighten the bench, if DWZ pulls up lame they'll shuffle Pompey & Capewell

I think theres zero chance. Ali is locked up long term and is basically our number #1 centre. Berry seems to be playing himself out of 1st grade.

Agree on Ali. Berry's a lock under AW's 'hit & stick' policy and IMO that's the right call. Tough on Pompey, he's a 1st grade centre and is playing well - but if he was rated 1 or 2 as centre by management he'd be kicking.

Not a fan personally but to his credit he’s a 90%+ tackler the last few years, which is elite for a centre and above both Ali and Pompey.

Not a selection thing, but I would like on attack our guys hold their depth a little longer. Too many times playera creep forwardrs and then have to slow runs and often catch the ball on their hip. That will make a big difference imo.
