General Warriors SG Ball 2025

Talking of young halves - Haami Loza is partnering Hastings in the halves in reserve grade this week.
I expected Ryder Williams would get the nod over Loza - but I rate Loza higher.
Both these young halves are 19 year old Kiwis.
Williams got a top 30 spot at the Titans last year as an 18 year old, but I think an injury slowed his progress and POS signed him for us a month or so ago.
Loza has played the last 2 seasons in SG Ball and Flegg and had an offer to join the Warriors this year.
Dobson coached him in Flegg last year.
My opinion is that Loza works a lot harder and is a smarter playmaker, but Williams is bigger, a stronger defender, and looks to be a good game manager who talks a lot

Off the knights forum regarding Haami Loza. Was on their forum in the off season that I saw he was meant to be coming this way but never happened. Looks like it was just an offer looking at this

Are they better than Luke Hanson Jye Linnane, Jett Cleary or Jack Thompson?

Couple of interesting losses for 2026 in Jack Thompson and Gordon Afoa. Afoa because he was only extended recently? Does losses to the sg team mean they’re changing grades or have left the club?
Surely the listed losses reflects the players that are too old for SG Ball now. Some have left the club (e.g., Pauling to Titans, Savea to Storm, Purcell to Panthers), and Jensen will be unavailable due to illness, but you'd think most - including the Paea Sikuvea and Thompson will be eyeing up spots in Flegg or Cup.

That being said, it looks like Militonimolela Sikuvea was born in 2007 and Afoa will only be 18/19 in 2026 (was 17 in April 2025 according to this article), so I would have they're both eligible - perhaps they've been moved on?

Also... it is ZeroTackle, so the 'grain of salt' principle applies.

Couldn’t see any ‘gains’ from Ex warriors either.

It looks like they have just pulled something together off the back of the code sports article as opposed to any announcement. We generally announce our teams after Xmas from memory
