General Warriors NSW Cup 2026

A lot of experience lost from last year. A bit of a reality check for some of the guys coming up from age grade football.

Some of the new guys showed promise in small sections. Hopefully improve with more time in this grade.
I think the coaching staff really fucked up letting so many pros leave…. What NSW Cup should be about, old pros teaching kids what’s required to make the next step.

Are you a betting man
I bet our Fg team don’t win the wooden spoom
No quit gambling in 2017… as I’ve got older I have learnt saying what you feel on emotion makes you sound like a dickhead and proven wrong.

Gambling on I feel both a dickhead and proven wrong. Aka The Oracle 😜😜🤣🤣

I think mostly its freddy and Kalani, otherwise they all made the step up to the warriors FG which is what we want.

TBH it’s actually pretty good for us we could use a couple old heads but atm most are playing up grades which will be better for first grade when they are experienced playing against men

Always a worry when your most experienced player is Doyle who's not even an above average player at this level. Our leadership group is probably EIT, Kayliss, Hanson and Tafua, which is a pretty young group.

People need to chill I think, this is how the team should be used. To fast track young guys that have showed promise in the age grade sides.

People are also forgetting that the 6 man bench has taken out guys that would be playing in this team each week.

Sikuvea looked unreal. Salalilo should make a difference when he returns. And Niukore (or whoever he pushes down). Same with Barnett due back soon.

They were some pretty horrible defensive reads from Putoko. A game he should probably just forget about and move on from.

Why was Motu Pasikala dropped? Seems strange that he is supposdely on a development contract this year (was in the main team photo) then makes way for AKP. Would've thought Putoko makes way?

The preseason hiding to Redcliffe makes alot of sense now.

Looks like a spoon team but we should hopefully reap the benefits in the long term.

They're surrounded by the first grade squad each week.

I have no issue with it. If they could've convinced Going to stick around on a train and trial then fine, but most the guys who left were underperforming top 30 members.

We just have a large injury list and the 6 man bench hasn't helped.

Roosters have a notouriosly wide training squad. They have to because they have no junior catchment or grassroot level to pull players from.

I thought it was only possible the year you turn 18
Yup that’s always been the rule for cup. Halasima was the year he turned 18.

Lemana and Bishop could play cup right now.

I think Lemana is fair way off that yet though. Maybe a debut at some point later in the year.

The NSW Cup team don't play a match, the day after a NRL match, until the 28th of June! 2 blokes in the top squad will miss out on game time each week for 17 weeks!
New rule means a significant advantage to QLD clubs as their fringe players go across multiple affiliate teams & Q Cup games rarely play curtain raisers for the NRL.
We could actually benefit from forming some form of relationship with a Q Cup team
