You wouldn’t think he’s injury cover at $1.2 million over 3 years. That is seemingly the Rocco replacement. Probably on the left now though seeing as Ali is performing well

I mean, if we look at it were actually getting change from the Rocco deal (apparently on 500k) who only managed to play an injury cover amount of games haha...

Chester was quite gettable a year or so ago. It just shows how critical it is that your recruitment guys strike at the right time with some talents.
He’s also going to leave first fullback opportunity he gets. He hasn’t played centre before this year and I still think he’s too small to be a top end elite centre. I’d rather have Anderson if we’re just talking centre position long term.

Yeah Ali/DWZ is a good thing. Try not to change it. RTS/AKP was even better. We’re really picking up bad luck. But Pompey/AKP can be good. Pompey is good at feeding his winger and his defence is dependable. We aren't in crisis mode yet. Few clubs could survive our injuries. But we have depth. Berry could fill a gap for a few weeks at left centre. Our systems are strong.

Hell yeah that’s the type of strike center I thought we were gonna go for.
Hopefully Anderson is injury cover.
He scored a try, made 2 line breaks, 3 offloads, 3 turnover tackles, a try saver and ran for 250m. If a Warriors centre did that I'm more than happy for him to have tried to beat his man one on one rather passing once in the game. Hes not the best argument to justify Anderson.

He has been on fire. Chester has been one of the best centres in the comp this season. I wasn’t using him and his whole game or season as an argument - I was using a singular, momentary decision where he chose himself over the team that was a 12 point swing in the next set…. In trying to say Anderson is not the type of player that breaks games open … but he is a player that plays a role and makes good decisions.

And thats only how hes been so far in his career, like everyone else that signs with us hell improve and go to another level with us.

If we can get that Ford/Tanah/Clark/Barney level of improvement were going to be humming

Yeah just unfortunate about Gannon atm, but I reckon he'll come back in to first grade next year after a year at cup level 🤞🏽

Next man up. Having a first grade quality centre in Pompey is awesome

I tried to get clarification of who the remaining 2 Supplementary/Development deals were after Cappy mentioned Hanson, Cleary, Salalilo & Tafua on SportNation a couple of months back. The Warriorholic has mentioned something in this interview with Caelys-Paul Putoko too but never any word from the club confirming it.
I got the following response from Richard Becht, Media Manager. "We don't list those details. They might be referred to every now and then in relation to a player but we don't make a point of naming them. It's our understanding that most clubs do the same". A change of approach from previous years when this info was available on the NRL's Signings Tracker

Does anyone reckon Lehi Hopoate could be a good shout?

Off contract at the end of 2027, so can be spoken to in November this year.
Im not sure whats happened to him though, as he had been at full back for a lot of the time Turbo was injured but looks like its Faulalo now, so may have slipped down the rankings? Is also an extremely good winger too, and quite young with good experience atm.

Im not sure about our fb stocks currently, I know we have a few young guys with big potential, but when are we likely to see them debut, or start holding a fg spot down? Are we hoping their ready from 2028?

He would be a great pick up - I would look at him as a fullback that can play wing. He is light but doesn't seem to get rag dolled. Also, I don't see another player in fullback at our club ready to play first grade outside of TT, CNK, RTS. I wonder if Linnane could play there?

Yeah deffo not right now but ive heard we have a couple of gun FBs in waiting - Radcliffe and someone else? Not sure how far away they are but they would need to be considered if the earliest we can sign a gun fb would be for 2028, as I cant imagine they'd be ready much after that? If we were able to get Lehi (or anyone else) for 2027 onwards i think you need to take the punt tho

From memory the six supplementary contracted guys were in the team photo the club shared on socials earlier in the season
