Yes, but Aus tax residency applies to foreigners in Aus or Aus citizens in foreign countries. It doesn't apply to foreign citizens in foreign countries.

He is NZ citizen and not Australian citizen so he wont get the exemption. He would need to change citizenship to get that exemption.

He may only be a year by year proposition, remembering he did walk away from the game for 12 months

Whispers are that Metcalf is “hard work” And his attitude around certain things isn’t great and the warriors would be very comfortable if he left, short of saying they want him out.

Pretty sure we would have figured that out before upgrading him to marquee status, still didn't stop us. The Bears would take him in a heartbeat if he became available!

Just had coffee with my Bulldogs contact. They are after Tanah Boyd but may even settle for Metcalfe. Matt Burton appears to be the one that is surplus to needs.








Came across this on eels LU forum. With Boyd seemingly committed, perhaps bulldogs becomes an option for Metcalf? He won’t be lacking options

In the hypothetical that we do want to get rid of metcalf because he is unwilling/not the best player for what ever position. I would of thought we'd just be happy to get our money back. Getting that 900k back to put into a player that will be in the starting 13 surely is more than enough.

Code sports reporting Tanah re-signs to end of 2029

They seem pretty confident that this is the case.

As always I won't relax fully till an official club announcement.

However I do enjoy reading these stories in the mean time.

It is pretty obvious with the absolute silence about the Metcalf situation that the Warriors are fully engaged on making sure they lock down Boyd before commenting.

If we have got Tanah for three years it is unprecedented, the first time an in form Australian half has signed after doing such a long stint in our reserve grade system as an NRL player from another club.

When does that ever happen? you sign a bloke for depth in the NSW cup and they play their way into a three year top side deal in the main chair with an accompanying NRL media come back story?

If it all works out, it will be an NRL fairy tale, young star, falls away as an NRL player at a terrible club, can only get one year Reggies contracts in NZ, goes on to be the form half of the opening rounds of the season while filling in....

Big fan of Jacob Preston but we got plenty of second rowers, Finau Latu a good young middle forward they picked up off dragons and looks a handy prospect? Max King would be a player I think Webster could get a lot out of
