I honestly think the Dragons will make a massive play for Luke Metcalf, especially for the rest of this season. Dean Young their coach is also their ex half and he will be desperate to get a quality half on their books immediately.

I could see Warriors grabbing Loko Pasifiki Tonga as compensation and saving a heap of cap space.
Give us Hamish Stewart and it’s a deal. Wouldn’t take loko

Dean Young was a hooker / utility I think.

Metcalf isn't what they need in a turnaround.

Can already see how that plays out. He’ll go there, play like shit just like everyone else there then get injured.

Stay here Lukey, fight for the position

They might be enticed with a discounted Mets partnering with Drinkwater and think they have a chance

This is one area where I am grateful we are low key in NZ.

If we were a Sydney club, this issue would have been plastered all over NRL 360, triple m and the entire NRL media apparatus. Imagine the chooks deciding to bench DCE in favor of Savala in the halves because they are winning with a Savala/Walker combo. The bad publicity for the chooks would be endless. As it stands, there's only a single story on the fox sports website and spoken briefly on a few NRL podcasts.

BENNETT WANTED TANAH TIME

Tanah Boyd has spurned the chance to return to Australia despite interest from Wayne Bennett’s Rabbitohs as he puts the final touches on a contract extension with the Warriors.

One of the NRL’s best players so far this season, Boyd is on the cusp of signing a new multi-year deal to stay across the Tasman. Barring an 11th-hour hitch, the Warriors are expected to confirm it soon.

The 25-year-old has revived his career in New Zealand with a series of fantastic performances, which even attracted the attention of master coach Bennett.

South Sydney registered an interest in bringing Boyd to Sydney and reuniting him with old Titans teammate David Fifita, but the former Australian Schoolboy wants to remain with the Warriors.

Starting to get my hopes up.

Boyd could be this clubs all time best ever signing if his career is on a trajectory for long term consistency at the level he is playing this season.

A number of 'if's' in that speculative comment, but I know one thing, the Warriors have not had an out and out organizing 7 that has come from Australia and is looking to be the guy long term. Nor have we had a half that can dominate other halves in the field kicking department regularly (shout out to Shaun Johnson who could win kicking duels in his latter years, the best of which were for the Sharks sadly - talking with the boot here - Sharks SJ was insanely accurate and long with the boot, right at the top).

At least we know Tanah wants the gig.

Souths would have been a good option for him, they are tracking well under Bennet with limited cattle, and they look consistent and are starting to play tough.

It would be hard to turn Wayne Bennet down, nice central Sydney job, nice lifestyle, legendary club.

Pretty obvious the club need to hire a kicker for goals, either a winger or a center or fullback.

Or they bump up Harry Inch to a wing gig (not gonna happen but he can kick goals and can tackle big men no worries)

Sunday’s Tanah day eh, same cool news a sunday or two ago too. Aussie journos should have Sydney clubs’ tea leaves and that’s probably how they know he wants to stay for a multi year deal

Satisfying to see rabbits were interested after posting here about them been one of the potential buyers with the dragons

Interesting other aussie journos also said a couple of Sydney clubs are interested in Metcalf at the same time
