I am interested in the Riccio comment
“With respect, Tanah has done nothing. He’s achieved wins but not over an entire season,” Riccio said.
In one sense it is a fair critique, only I have never seen our attack click this good. It seems an odd line when comparing the two, because with respect neither of them have put together an entire season of performances.

But I think it more likely that someone does have some inside word when it is reported in a way that is in favor of the subject.

Not sure why my feeling has shifted but I am starting to think this Metcalf story is a storm in a tea cup similar to him signing the extension. Our club has been become world class in handling these things privately

I disagree that it's a Storm in a teacup but I also think it is being blown out of proportion.

The worst case scenario to me is that Metcalf is all in for this year but gone next year.

Any talk of dissent, destabilising the camp, dirty looks etc etc is much more likely to be fabrication.

Take a step back, Metcalf was sold a vision and signed on, that changed within 6 months. He and his camp are entitled to establish what the new long-term plans are.

Anyone here that has been offered a promotion and had it evaporate will know that feeling in the pit of your stomach.

The fact the club is not commenting suggests plans are a foot. The club are also wise not to comment as they are not playing this week, no media commitments, let it take its course.

Ya in the last few weeks when it comes to metcalf/boyd the comments from the pundits were “he’s done nothing” “metcaf will be 7 by playoffs” or all 3 SJ guests picking mets and saying “metcalf is the future” while the club’s actually negotiating for an extension with him

The type of s*** Boyd hears from the media when getting compared yet he’s not the one publicly requesting a meeting and demands

We must have different definitions of storm in a teacup haha

Our marquee half on a long term contract is unable to make the team.

It's about as serious as it gets for an NRL team IMO.

But professionally I don't expect any drastic changes, they will clear the air, get onboard for a prem tilt this year and at the moment you would have to think it is 50/50 if Metcalf is here next year.

That's how I see it.
