Rumours are swirling that star playmaker Luke Metcalf could leave the Warriors early, with the Perth Bears raised as a potential destination.
Ah yes of course. The one half that is under contract for 3 years, has a massive injury history, apperently is worse than both our existing halves and a drama queen. Is somehow getting offers from every club, and yet every one of our other halves (Boyd, CHT, TMM, Hanson) have gotten no offers from anyone according to the media. Feels like i'm going mental with this level of congantive dissonance.

Sure comes across that way. Very much a team player. Should we lose CHT (hope not) TMM might well step up to fill that role. And not a bad replacement to have in your back pocket for sure.
Remember that run TMM went on in 2024 when he was genuinely the best halfback in the comp. If he had continued the run a bit longer, he would've been our 2025 Metcalf or 2026 Boyd and we would've likely given him a massive upgrade to be our long-term number 7.

TMM would be an ideal first drop 7 or 6 until juniors outplay him, local, economical and no fuss playing cup too

Just weird Webby doesnt jibe with him

I’m wondering if this could be something they’re exploring? That footage of Webster talking about TMM he talks about him being team first and prepared to play in grade or grade below. He be great for halves coming through

Boyd at 7 and TMM at 6 were dynamic in nsw cup last year. That injury in the indigenous game came at a bad time for him

Take a step back, Metcalf was sold a vision and signed on, that changed within 6 months. He and his camp are entitled to establish what the new long-term plans are.

Anyone here that has been offered a promotion and had it evaporate will know that feeling in the pit of your stomach.

I'm not feeling the work place comparisons to the common man.

Your average Joe won't stay at the highest salary bracket in the company when someone younger that is doing a better job for half the salary comes along.

This guy gets paid 900k for three years no matter what he is doing at work for the next three years.

Few of us could relate to that as a demotion - most of us would call that a win.

Also, unlike the work place scenarios I have been reading in here, we can't wait for injury to a co worker as a normal part of operations to slot back into our preferred role. Our colleagues don't tear hamstrings and break ankles or get HIA's regularly meaning we get our shot at the job again.

If it is good enough for legends like RTS and Capewell (the later being an actual Origin player) to get slotted back and forth to suit the teams needs, then Luke has nothing to complain about, accept the challenge, rise to it (like Tanah Boyd had to).

The balls on this guy if this is true, man he took Chanels place while Chanel was on fire.....

They were devastating as a combo.

Hanson was better with Boyd too.

Seems pretty obvious what the common denominator is.
To me it’s the forward pack and the platform. But everyone performing their roles and Boyd deserves his accolades, though goal kicking can be a bit wayward at times. CHT complimenting well too

Boyd can also kick us long when we are barely getting out of our thirty.
