There’s a rumour that Barnett will go broncos this year and exchange we’ll get Arthers and Te-Kura.
Something looked off with Barnett in the team song, could be something.

Don’t know how I feel about te-Kura, but Arthers would be a good get, straight into right centre.
Or if Ali and Berry come good, he’s a good winger.

I mean if you’re child’s health is priority why wouldn’t you just leave asap??

I watched Wynnum vs Souths at Kougari on Saturday and it is a no from me on either player.
Arthurs looked like he didn't want to be there & lack of input Whilst Te Kura was gassed after 5 minutes when he came off the bench.

This article doesn't say much that we don't know already. In that the Broncos are keen on Barnett.

The main important part. Talks are going to heat up on Monday and it

It’s unknown whether the Broncos have a player in mind they’d consider sending to the Warriors in order to sign the 32-year-old, but Code Sports are reporting that talks between the Broncos and the Origin star are set to heat up on Monday.

The contract on the table as it stands is a two-year deal worth $750,000 a season.

A two year deal you would expect to be for 2027, 2028. With Haas leaving, Reynolds retiring it would be a lot easier to fit him in their salary cap.

For an early release they'd need to release a player or two. They have some big names under contract, Origin and International players. The old sign for less to live in Brisbane isn't as strong as it was in the 90s or early 2000's. Even if some of them are on less than they could get elsewhere it is a lot of big contracts they have on their books. Pretty sure it has been reported their cap is tight.

If he is there for talks today. Or still in Australia (report last week was Mcguire flew to Sydney to meet with him). Then it is unlikely he will be named this week.

From a Warriors point of view. Sure, they have said they want something in return. It might be better to have him sort out his future and have him back in Auckland training. The sooner this is sorted the better. The speculation is over and we can concentrate on our season.

I haven't watched Te Kura all that much, but Arthars seems like he's got a pretty good ceiling on him, no?
I'd say he plays at his ceiling and is a tidy player. We don't need that, we need x factor. Barnett has x factor, he is one of our marquees. We either get x factor back in a position that is needed, or fill a problem area with a longer term contract of a guy coming into his prime to make a swap (for this year) work.

Yeah, fair.

Although Arthars is a pretty good finisher, so there's that to consider.

Personally I see Barney's replacement going to that right centre position.

I think some people are over estimating the leverage the team has with Barnett. The whole like for like player thing doesn't really make sense. Why would a team give up a player to swap it for another one that's just as good.
I think the only realistic situations are players that the other clubs actively want to offload, players that actively wanted to leave, or a promising young player on a cheap contract.

Probably a good deal for both. How many centres do the Eels need though?? Kelly, Penisini, Samrani, even Simonsen. Tago seems to have really levelled off recently for some reason, maybe a change will be good for him without the Panthers losing much.

Yeah i mentioned something similar in the game day thread.
We've been screaming out for quality halves at the Wahs for years and while we have a plethora of young exciging halves coming through, if CHT has another similar year I cant imagine that we would be getting rid of a half thats had 40+ try assists and tries in 2 years, where we finished 5th and hopefully in the 8 this year?

CHT is starting to find his way towards the top of the 'first picked list for me.
To win the comp you need some out and out stars like Metcalf, but you also need a fair few middle men - the ones who don't cost the earth, are consistenr and provide a platform for the bigger stars to shine. CHT and Ford are perfect examples of this kinda guy
And Chitty got two pies and laid on that beautiful no look short pass for Capey.

Then he has turned his ugly kicks into actual weapons. And he played both sides of the field.

But this........and this is big.......

Chitty has ace personalised hand shakes. That Tanah try hand shakes was bad ass.

On the unofficial broncos site too
I feel like people dont understand how instagram or other social media handles work.

btw this is the official brisbane broncos site...

Quite shocking that the official broncos handle is following just 1 random and no posts. So must be official....

You joke, but the guy is no shit just cool and smart. I want him round.

I feel like people judge Arthars on how he plays at the broncos where has dynamic players around him. They forget how he played when he did play for the Warriors when he was here. He does not move the needle much at all. I would rather develop Berry/Ali, players who are already here and are probably be cheaper too. They both just need to work on getting fit and in Ali's case learning how to tackle.
If we are going to develop Ali and Berry so be it. But get them right based on their frailties which appears to be durability and endurance. Adam Pompey is the epitome of both of those areas without having high ceiling x factors and he's also weathered the forum storms since his early jersey grab against Brisbane many moons ago.

So Rocco needs bone density increase. Ali needs invincible ankles and off the mark acceleration.

On Arthars......... We'll be right with who we've got. Better to monitor Herbie's contract if we want a Rolls Royce centre. He could get a compassionate grounds release to come to NZ where he can talk proper English with Gannon.

Oh they know alright.

They just don't care if it's legitimate or not. Lack of regulation and people not needing an internet licence or grammar licence or spelling licence means you're in for a bumpy ride through the mire of internet posts.

I do too. Scores tries. On both sides of the field. Is experienced on the field and away from the grind of Rugby league as a job. So he's mentally balanced and more mature when footy was mostly what he was about. He also came back after the highs of season 23 and experienced a struggle of a return. Now he's on a roll and scoring tries, setting up tries, tackling with venom and doing ace hand shakes. And the handshake is not trivial but shows a connection between the participants. He genuinely celebrated Tanah succeeding.

He's good for our team and I disagree that we need to drop him or not resign him.
