KP will sign on for $1 to $1.2M Im sure.. Fingers crossed anyway.
KP is on $1.4m a year till end of 2027. He's not allowed to ask for a release and come to us or any other team for less than $1.4m a year, unless it's for 2028 and beyond.

Why would we resign TT, have rts and cnk AND sign KP.

Didn't we also resign cnk last year?

RTS isn't relevant as he's started 2 games at fb the last 2 years and likely won't get another start again. Depending on our winger stocks he's either gone this year, or extended 1 year to bridge the gap.

CNK was resigned last year and rightly so...look at what we have available for this year....not many season long FB options other than Taine, who has failed to finish like 30% of his starts at FB. No way you can rely solely on him. Imo he won't be the starting fb nek year.

Taine just resigned. I feel this is as back up, as mentioned above he gets injured too often when starting, and with the emergence of the 19 man bench I feel he is the perfect super sub for us.

KP would fit in perfectly for us - attacking wise he'd offer a new dimension for us but also offers a stronger in game kicking option that we desperately need. Also goal kicks too. If we were going to get rid of CHT at half next year (widely assumed he won't be there an maybe Linane orbl a running half) it takes pressure off the 6 coming in, allowing someone like Linane to focus on his running game.

Just a guess at this point, but does this mornings ruling in the Lomax case, coupled with the fact that the Eels have said they are more than willing to help Lomax find a new club provided they are adequately compensated, put him on our radar? I dont necessarily want the guy, and don't believe he would see out a contract, but you would have to think with Barnett linked to the Eels, that Lomaxs name would at least be on the whiteboard at HQ.

I also think it doesn't take a genius to see that we are a team on the up, with a great forward pack, decent hookers and a good half, but are in dire need of game breaking backs.

If Lomax is prepared to sit out 2026 so be it, but if he wants to play finals football this year and next, wed be a great bet as we have something that the Eels want.

Surely someone in Lomax's camp can see that?

It would mean we lose Barney for 2026 though. Im not sure if that's in our best interests though, if the boys are all up for a big shift in 2026 to see Barney off, maybe that doesn't work?

I think it would be a good deal if we could keep him for 2 years which was how long Barnett's contract was for. I think doing it now would be good for everyone involved. There is a loss of Barnett for this year and it may have an impact on morale. But he can sort out his family and his kids medical condition earlier, and we get better balance in our squad.

Lomax is arguably a similar level of quality footballer to Barnett and we strengthen our backline where we need it. Our young forwards are stepping up into the fray and we still have JFH, Capewah, Eric Clark, Egan and big Marata to provide leadership and mana.

Maybe he wouldn't be a good fit for Webby and the club, and if so then fair enough. However, we are the best placed club to make the trade now and it would certainly change the threat level of our club.

Lomax for Barney this year??? Have we all hit the sauce early? 😂

Can’t believe what I am reading. It’s the off field stuff money can’t buy that Barney influences our inexperienced youngsters.

Lomax, breaks contracts, like I do gym memberships. Not due to his young family and his sons needs, but for his own greed and over exaggerated self worth.

Yeah sweet, that’s exactly the culture you build a future on… fark me.

Had a good laugh reading that thanks. Won't happen anyway eh.

I am in the we probably won't get anyone basket and not through any fault of the Warriors. We aren't exactly the top of the average Australian lifestyler's list, maybe a kiwi...maybe...probably no one flash.

But people are having fun wishing I spose like that useless lotto ticket for this week.

Why yes, I am on my second beer. Thank you for asking. :ROFLMAO:

I contend there is enough culture left if Barney leaves that we could cope and even be better with Lomax. I take your point, culturally in isolation Barney is better for us than Lomax. However, with our other leaders maintaining the standards it doesn't necessarily mean that our team would be worse overall. From a purely footballing perspective we would be arguably better.

My caveat is that Lomax would need to be a good fit for Webby and the Club for it to be a worthwhile trade. If he isn't, including for the reasons you mention, then sure we shouldn't make the trade.

The good thing is we have the leverage to make the deal happen, whereas most other clubs do not.
