Absolutely that bigger body is what we lack. We have nothing like that in first grade and those guys you mentioned would be lucky to get a handful of games in first grade in the next 3 years.
If we swapped and Loko was available for us from next week, in the next 3 years (injury permitting) hed play 70 games.

Still not convinced we need him due to the players we have currently, but we don't have anyone on our roster that compares to him atm

I disagree. This fetish that we have for a monster prop has got to stop. Watching him at the Dragons, he is a lot like Royce Hunt. Off the bench, he's good for about 10-20 minutes. Anything more than that, he gets really lazy and becomes a massive liability in defense, like all the other genuine monster props in the game.

In my view, the game has passed by the likes of LPT, NAS, etc. Haas and AFB are the exceptions to the rule because they have footwork and can play long minutes. The other top props in the game are actually rather mid sized in the 6'1 and 106-107kg category (ie Fish, Leota, Tapine, Papalii, etc). The reason is simple: this isn't yawnion where you can bring on a completely new team (bomb squad) like the Boks do whenever your piggies get gassed. In a game as fast paced as league with limited interchanges and where the ball in play is almost double what it is in yawnion, you need to prioritize mobile middles that have high defensive work rates and ability to play long minutes. We have more than enough of those to go around. Complementing that with our current back five which is one of the best in the comp for carting the ball out of mid field, getting more middle yardage is not our issue atm.

Like everything in life, salary cap is about managing wants with limited resources. In a perfect world with no cap, of course we'd benefit from bringing in another elite prop to replace Barney's experience. But we don't live in that world, so we need to target our relative weakness which is an X-factor outside back whom I'm sure we've noticed are much more pricier in the current market than an elite forward. Let's not take our eye off the ball.

I’d take that deal, We still need a back tho. LPT and somehow get Arthers.
Is LPT better than TSS tho? Probably.

Is LPT better than TSS tho? Probably.

A year ago i would've said yes definitely. But LPT isn't getting picked because his lateral movement isn't great on defence.

TSS might be better suited for starting roles and longer minutes. Honestly pretty shocked by his progression over the offseason. I don't think I would pick LPT over TSS at this very point in time.

Agreed on RTV being nowhere near LPT size. RTV is 6'2 at most.

Agree, the only way we get compensation is if there are two equal monetary bids for Barnett and he, out of respect to the club takes the deal that provides us with compensation as an extra. (probably because that club needs to make room in their top 30)
