Sam Tomkins was suppose to be the second coming according to some posters on here.

I don't think it's unreasonable for people to question why Gannon would be an automatic pick for the top 17 from day one. He may very well be there round 1 but it's also a step up in week to week intensity moving from the Super League to the NRL.

Either way, it's great we are looking at all available options and not just relying on our own development pathways 100%

If it wasn't for his injuries, I really don't think the Tomkins signing would have been looked down on as much. He is an excellent player and was a risk worth taking.

It sucked losing Nobby, but that turned out to be the right move.

People go on about the glazing that some players like Gannon may get, but I feel he also seems to get a fair bit of the anti-glaze, like he must be super shit to come from Super League or because we haven't had many positives from England (not saying that's the case specifically with your post Waka!).

The kid could be anything. Has played for the English Knights as a youngen and has made the England squad for the end of year. Fairly impressive for a bloke thats 21 years old and took a year off to get his body right.

Yes, he'll probably need to start off in NSW Cup to get his bearings when he's over here, but it sounds like he's a big body and is skillfull enough to find himself in the first grade team as some point next year.

With a bit of luck he could be a 10 year + Warrior and become a fan favourite. Here's hoping!
This is more like it. Chur Tookey.

All this other, If he earns it during the pre season he deserves it - ish is to much. Didn't sand dune fijian king deserve it for his pre season feats. But still had to sit in Cup to prove himself?

If Gannon cracks it and becomes a longterm stud for us. I'll be over the moon. Until then, I just want to see something with my own eyes. People are acting like I want the kid to fail lol. Totally the opposite.

I thought he was very good for us when fit. He just wasn't Jesus level like some liked to talk him up as.

Put him in this team with the stats dominance we have usually had and it would have been interesting.

Anyway, I think Gannon is a good signing. Probably relatively cheap and a different player to what we have coming through. Let's see if he can cement himself in the side.

There are a lot of invented narratives in peoples minds going on about Gannon.

I challenge anyone to find a post where he was talked up as the next best thing or any better than any of our players.

I am pleased though, that people are talking about Gannon at all since he is a young guy from far off and out of view.

Personally I think he is a good player. I think he has tackling issues, his technique is poor, akin to Egans. He goes in hap hazard and it is little wonder he keeps knocking himself out.

And I keep reminding people he can pass a ball unlike any forward we have, and that is the really exciting part about us signing him. He is worth a punt, could tank, could crack it, who really knows, none of us, but he is a star junior forward in his own circle and that is earned not given, therefore he deserves respect on arrival or who the hell do the Warriors think they are? the bloody All Blacks? (not aimed at you, just indulging myself in my way).

Someone made the suggestion he is similar to Bailey Sironen and I think that is absolutely on point.

Does that sound like Glazing a player? comparing their ability to Bailey ruddy Sironen LOL?

But at his age that is a big compliment and portends well for his future.

If Webby picks him in the 17, then yes he probably put in the work, out shone "promising local juniors" and earned it. That's generally what preseason is for.

He'll either be in the 17 or he'll be in NSW Cup. Both are possible and neither is a given until he actually gets here and starts competing with the rest of the squad.

Dune was hyped because there was a still photo of him ahead of RTS with zero context. That has nothing to do with earning it and is about an apples to oranges comparison that you could possibly make.

It has everything to do with it lol. Apparently Ravutaumada killed the Sand dunes & beep tests. Was one of the hardest working, Fittest players at the club. Just from the quotes from the club, Sounded like he had a chance at 1st grade.
But he still started in Cup.

I haven't seen enough of Gannon to jump up & down & rave about him....Yet.

If he makes the starting 17. Then , Good on him.

If he starts in cup, Then good on him.

What's the issue ?

Question, I might of missed it, But is Toby Crosby def off to the Panthers ? Just watched a Warriorholic video of him saying Toby is off to the riff. Guttered if true.
