Terrell May posted Bloke In A Bar’s post about him being free to leave onto his Instagram Story, adding “Nothing to do with off the field stuff”

Pretty sad that he had to add that in, but such is the nature when so many of your colleagues are right bellends outside of work, not to mention your own brothers 😅

Nice to know lol; Pretty certain he’ll end up with the Dogs, but

Extremely unlikely to be a development contact

The clubs official post makes no mention of it - stating it is a 2 year contract.

For what reason would the club have not to disclose it is a dev deal? In fact, if it were true it makes the club look extremely competent to pick up NRL experience on such a lowly deal.

And further to that, Boyd had 12 months to run on his Titans deal. Surely he would have been better to stick with that than move to NZ for a dev deal - doesn't make sense to me.

The Titan fan in here made mention of his pedigree etc - I'm way more inclined to believe that the club think they can make something of him

I wouldn’t put any weight into the clubs posts on it.

Their posts about Kahu Capper and Jett Cleary made it seem like they were our marquee signings this year.

I could well be a mistake, but I’d trust information put out by NRL.com over a Warriors statement that doesn’t state either way.

Theres no mention of it in the NRL signings tracker article.

A dev contract is restricted to $80k per year.

I put a lot of weight on the clubs comms. He's signed a 2 year deal is what they are saying and I believe it

WHY
We are talking about an NRL Prop here
They dont come wrapped in cotton wool. A bit of mongrol
He is a very good prop. Very strong in the contact, good feet and makes great metres. Roosters hate having people on overs, looks like a simple correction there as they will be planning for 3-4 big names coming in. You would think making his salary undesirable as they can usually get awesome players for around the 7-800k mark. They also can see N Whyte developing so well. I would definitely be interested, he may be better than Wilson and potentially Leo Thompson...

This article references Tyrone Thompsons development contract but makes no such mention of Tanah Boyd being on one.

So I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Its in the table under that where it has all the Warriors contracts

There was also a rumour on twitter that he slept with a players wife..

On Boyd being listed as a development contract. The only things I can think of would be we are waiting to release someone and he'd get promoted. Webster has said that we have 29 signed so there should be a spot. I know clubs like to keep a slot open to promote someone or sign someone mid season so they name the given amount when required. But you don't have to restrict yourself to those numbers. You can have 30 now.

The other thing could be we are using the cap rules effectively.

I haven't watched Boyd closely. So, I don't know much about him. The fact is we need another half. For the depth and competition, all of our options have flaws. Also all of our current options have had injury issues the last few years. So, we need another option to ensure we have a half available.

They all have flaws. Our coaching staff have a bit of work to do over the off season working with our halves. Mitchell Moses has said Webster likes to have options around his halves. We had that working in 2023. Not as much in 2024. So again a bit of work to do in the off season.

Hopefully. We are not set on certain players and the best performers get selected. Then most importantly we win.

Let your performances be the reason for your selection

If that is the case, which wouldn't surprise me, AW is going for the no frills, follow the plan robotically, risk adverse approach which failed miserably this year.

Titans have speed in their outside backs and a very good second row to create with. Boyd had probably his best season in 2023 playing 21 games for two tries and eight assists - 10 try involvements and 8 wins. Unless he has some hidden ball playing magic we are going to struggle to score points without some spark coming from somewhere. We will need TT, Ali Leiataua and Metcalf to play every game and hope Egan gets back to his creative best.

For context, this season for us SJ had 16 games with 5 tries and 15 try assists. TMM at halfback this year had 8 games with 3 tries and 14 try assists - combined 24 games 8 tries and 29 try assists
Those stats are a bit telling arent they.

Both SJ who wasnt in the greatest of form and playing on one leg and TMM who played less than half the games with a far greater try assist ratio.......tends to suggest he's not the most creative ball player type (altho maybe the plan at the Titans was just get it on to their speedsters and let them do the rest)

I could be doing the bloke a diservice, i mean i've watched Titans games but havent watched him specifically with the only impression he left me with is a mid of the road half giving strong Rovelli vibes.

That said the jury is still out if any of TMM. CHT, or Metcalf have a first grade kicking game, so this is probably his point of difference and that wouldve been risky going into an NRL season without.

Probably completes our recruitment drive......go well young man.
