I think it sounds from Ref's post about Boyd getting roughed up one game like he may need a forward to ride shotgun over him before he will have the confidence to try to impose himself. We actually two guys who can do this while I can't think of anyone on the Titans. Barnett just looks unhinged and he is known throughout the NRL as the Warriors enforcer. More realistically if you told Marata to ride shot gun he would relish the opportunity to do so. Marata loves thugging it up. We have a tougher pack all around. And this may give him the cocoon he needs to express himself. Wishful thinking anyway..

I was impressed in Marata thugging it up on Barnett

Marata is a momentum player. if he can get injury free and start to believe himself we could have a real power forward on our books. I am firmly in his camp and everyone just needs to be patient with him. He was big for the Eels making it to the grand final and added real starch to their pack.

kos asked me on here a couple of months back what I thought of Tannah- don’t know if he knew something…
My response was along the lines of- he should try hooker or super league :ROFLMAO:.
I must admit though since then, the more I looked at what we would be looking for and who was a realistic target, I had a feeling that we might well land on him so I’m not surprised by this signing and for some reason that I can’t really put into words I just have a gut feeling that he could turn out to be a good fit.
Super league would’ve been the easy option so for him to opt to move to nz and keep chasing them dream- I respect that.
He’s gonna be a man on a mission and there is an opportunity here if he can seize it.
At worst he’s experienced back up, at best he reaches his potential here (he was a highly touted junior) and establishes himself.
welcome aboard Tanwah.

Interesting all this talk around Jordan Riki. There was a rumour on here about Nikora so perhaps we are in for a second rower? Hard to say with Laban and Halasima looking sharp but if we shifted Niukore and Ford to front row, it could be plausible? That instagram footage certainly only shows Warriors players now and due to arrive with Riki added

When I saw he was a surfer with a young family and few dogs that look like his fur babies on his instagram, I just assumed he’d go to manly when I saw their interest. He obviously sees an opportunity here and I agree completely with your post

Riki has everything to be a world-class backrower. Speed, size, skill & strength! He's as fit as a fiddle too. His discipline can be shocking & to often switches on and off during games. It's all mental of course. What I did notice when Capewell was there , Capes would dig into him then pull him aside and give him a pep talk. Then Riki would pull his head in and play well.
Capes is here. Would be good for Riki to have Capes, Fisher-Harris, Barrett as mentors.

The only reason I see us getting Riki is if Harris is done. I'd rather keep Halasima , Laban, Sifakula, Eddie Ieremia-Toeava. Marata moving to prop doesn't solve much. Unless Sifakula is moved to prop permanently too. Stating 13 with the OG's with a bench Mix of a couple Young guns with Nuikore & Clark?

JFH
Egan
Barnett
Capewell
Riki
Harris

Nuikore
Sifaklua
Halasima
Clark

Laban
Eddie Ieremia-Toeava
Ford

Possibly

Boyd wouldn't have been my first pick for a new recruit but he is probably an upgrade on our present halves. He can kick in general play and kick goals and play 21 games a season.
As for Jones and Johnson improving him? Not sure I'd let either of them near him. It's hard to soar like an eagle if you're being taught to fly by turkeys.
Maybe a bit harsh on Stacey but I have a long memory and neither of them have been without serious issues over their careers

Bit of talk the Terrell May thing is linked to roosters having a play at Ben Hunt. Not sure why they’d free up a prop and they have heaps of money to spend? Guess it could be Sam Walker too they trying to re sign. Of course bulldogs are linked to Terrell May

That’s why I honestly don’t get that pissed off when players want out.
Clubs just agitate and leak information to make unwanted players have to go.
Everyone talks about players wanting out but the clubs are worse imo.
